!!! 12/12 NOTTS AFTER SHOW AT SPANKY'S BACK ON !!

I have hired the disco area at Spanky Van Dykes for the after show gathering after the NMA Rock City gig.

I picked up the thread started by LCG who can sadly no longer make it to Notts. The upstairs room which LCG has used for the last two events is not available for that night, it was booked for a different party several months ago.

We have use of the downstairs disco area which is towards the back of the pub as you enter. The pub will still be open to the public, but the disco is ours. A large pub, this should avoid any queuing which occurred last year. Mainly a "student pub", I imagine if it fills up with much NMA family, the students may thin out off to other pubs, especially with our choice of music. We have this area 10 pm till 2 pm.

I have also hired the DJ equipment with all the P/A, etc. All we need now -- is a D/J

Any volunteers / recommendations ?

Hi People still up for it - Very strange thing happened today Booking.com cancelled My hotel room with no given reason so will have to find another (no probs but any suggestions welcome) As I said before I'm happy to DJ but would like to soundcheck if possible before the gig. I can Be in Nottingham early afternoon if required. See You in Leamington later. Shush if Your going tonight  PM me Your mobile so I can talk to You about it, should be in spoons by about 6pm

That's excellent news VagaB, thank you very much. Sorry, I am not doing Leamington, Manchester next for me.

I did ask exactly what equipment they have. They did tell me, but I didn't understand any of it. To copy and paste from their last email -  " We have CDJ1000s, Technics 1210's and Pioneer or Funktion One mixers on offer." I assume a full range of speakers also. They also added - " just bring records, needles and headphones on the night"

Not sure if you would rather bring your own decks or not. I am sure LCG would be happy to offer any advise on what is best, him having worked with their equipment twice before.

I can give you the email contact for the events manager at Spanky's if you have any questions or requirements.

Will you be driving to Notts that day ? If so, maybe I can meet up with you before the gig, go to Spanky's together to drop off your gear -- and then pint.

I'm staying at the strathdon  Its good enough, clean , warm and friendly. Think its about the cheapest in the city centre about 5 mins walk from rockers

Rather worryingly thats where im booked in too. They still havent taken the room payment which is also worrying

Just checked booking.com and it says that the booking has been confirmed. I went with the free cancellation deal where you pay on the day. Certainly didn't have any problems last year that's why I went for the same again
Check your account at booking.com and if your still worried phone the strathdon

Cheers mate. I havent got a no cancellation deal (didnt see ir!!) but theyre gonna take payment tonight. Fingers crossed. Long walk back to the West Mids otherwise lol
