Nottingham Pre-gig...

So, it's gonna be two weeks tonight (and I truly can't wait)... we all still doing the Tap?

I'd personally prefer to do somewhere else, mainly because it takes a ridiculous time to get served at the bar with that much sweaty overcrowding... but as Shush said a while back, it's a firm and fine Nottingham Christmas tradition... so let's go with that.  Whose coming?  And at what time?

Door open at Rockers at 6... the support band (can't say I've ever heard of them...  ) will probably be on by 7... and if it's anything like last year, when the queue went right up the f-ing block and it took us forever to get into the venue... but it'd be nice to have a proper meet beforehand...

Could I possibly suggest us fellow Forum folks meet between 4 and 4-30 at The Tap?  if anyones got a better idea, great...

I fuckin hate the Tap. Its crowded, the Ale is shite and well over priced when you have finally got served after waiting 10 mins.

But as you say, I do not think I have ever been to Rockers without calling at the Tap immediately before. If you have been somewhere decent first, it is on the way to Rockers.

Its just the way of things.

Is the tap the one on Wollaton st? Only ask cos a few years ago me and er indoors went to a pub next to our hotel that was packed with NMA fans and a very short distance from Rock City

Dare I say that the soft drinks were the worst ever, a small glass of flat so called cola out of one of those mixer tap things, I was forced into drinking lager lol

My plans, I arrive in Nottingham about 13.30 , get a Greggs at the station walk up to the hotel have a munch in my room a kip and then a shower n head to the tap. Taking it easy on the pre gig beer this year, n definitely only drinking water in rockers , see what happens in spankies after though its 3 different trains to get home well 4 if you count Glasgow to stewarton

The Trip is, indeed, a fine pub, Shush took me there earlier this year...

Well, going to bed now, so my plan tomorrow is to get into Nottingham for about mid-day, have a pub lunch somewhere, get to the Premier Inn on Goldsmith St (my usual Notts sleepy-place), have a big old snooze and be at the Tap for about 4pm - 4.30... hope to see some of you there.
