Yes it will be available to order from the shop - we're just waiting for the actual weight of the graphic novel so the postage will be correct and then we'll stick the link up to the shop. Hopefully next week. It will also be available on the tour as well.

I received my copy yesterday.

I made a playlist with die trying, devil and winter and started reading and looking. and i can say, it was a wonderful new experience!
the graphics flow with the lyrics, while you listen to the songs you can watch the images by matt huynh and all melts wonderfully together.

i've never experienced such a thing. reading a book, while narrated by songs, and together a whole new world unfolds in your mind.

a fantastic masterpiece!!

but i noticed this. one of my favourite lines ever by justin, is not complete!

"they took me down to the tree of knowledge and said that i must resist
and all i could think was - what kind of stupid joke is this
not to want to know and feel everything that exists
behind the curtain drawn by self appointed control freaks and their apologists

it guess matt decided to exclude this because of arrangement of text and picture at that page, maybe he felt more text would not fit into the picture. but i'm not sure. i must say i miss that line

go buy the novel and sit down and listen to the songs while reading!!
ever tried. ever failed. no matter.
try again. fail again. fail better.

i just sat down and listened again to the book. and suddenly i got the idea...

the exclusion of that line "not to want to know and feel everything that exists" flows with the picture of a grinning shush-man (someone putting the fingerover the lips to tell you to be quiet) and immediately produces the feeling of a loss,  that i want to have everything that exists (the line of lyrics) but its not there...

maybe this is a far stretched interpretation, but i'm satisfied with it.  8)
this graphic novel grows more and more on you and you really should give it some relaxed time to "read" and "listen" to it.

Well, no!

I'm still waiting for an answer and can't believe no one is interested in the questions i raised, since its about an outstanding artwork and collaboration, an almost unique (or are there any comix written about songs out there?) mergin of wonderful arts and then there is this thing in it. something is missing....

I thought since space is about to roll and troll around again here and topics become very fast personal instead of sticking to the questions and topics, i'll try again to ask around if anyone has also noticed this and has some thoughts about it.

i'm really curious!

Hey, mate!  I admit, I don't have the 'Winter' comic book so can't answer, sorry!  Not really into comix although I respect how others love them... Sometimes you can post a question and it just doesn't resonate with the general populace here, God knows I've posted a few of them...  ;)

The 'Space' thing... well, that seems to have gone quiet!  I guess his trolling habits haven't gotten the reaction he wanted...  :)

Don't take it personally, mate, this Forum can be a bit slow these days but I hope someone gets back to you...

Hey Master Ray,

thanks for your attention and don't worry, i'm not taking it personal. i really learned with age to take less and less things personal, even if some seem to directly attack me. mostly, like 95% these things, done or said by other people have to do with their own problems and projections. but thats OT.

it seems, that not many people really own the comic. like you. you are a big fan of nma, but you don't have the comic. it another medium, not music and its done by another, totally different artist.

but that is what i'm interested in. to me, this combination was a totally new experience for me. i love audiobooks, i love movies, i love music and here i could watch and read images (no words, but a visual story) while listenimg to the musik, the score of the movie in my head. this is fantastic, and i admit willingly, that it brought tears to my eyes. the songs alone didn't have that sad emotional impact, but combined with the graphic tragedy..

i really, really just can tell everyone, try it out. get the graphic novel, relax, programm the 3 songs of winter and start reading. it's wonderful. and it gets better with every new read.

but the main question was about the "mistake" in the novel, the missing lyrics.

if viv is reading this, i really woul like to get a professional involved opinion about that print, if it was intended or even a missprint. if there is any chance of answering that question.

So, here we go again.... 8)

I will bring this up from time to time until i get some other opinions, ideas and answers. Since there are some new folks around here, there might be a chance that my questions will be heard out there in the wilderness;-)

I'm not sure who was it, i think Ghosttrain or 8, who said not long ago, that some more discussions about nma topics would be finde. So here is one...(at this point you should scroll back a little in the thread, to know what it is about...)

So, the quest has ended! (one year and 8 months later)

I just wrote an email to matt huynh and he kindly took the time to explain to me the concept.
But since nobody here seems to be interested in this fantastic masterpiece, the collaboration of a fantastic graphic artist and new model army songs, i will keep it to myself until someone shows some interest.
