Just to lighten the tone.

Eating bread crusts makes your hair curl.

You should feed rabbits carrots.

Blimey, some pretty intense opinions about 9/11!  I agree that the BBC thing was probably just misinformation.

This is a fun thread!  Let's keep it going, what other silly myths have anyone ever heard?

A couple more... on average, everyone eats five spiders a year in their sleep.

You're never more than 6ft from a rat.

Just remembered another one!

The kids TV show 'Captain Pugwash' had characters named Seaman Stains, Master Bates and Roger The Cabin Boy.

I've met so many people, over the years, who insisted that it was the case...

And another one (and I really love this one...)

The saxophone player on Gerry Rafferty's huge hit 'Baker Street' was Bob Holness...

If you're called Space you're a better songwriter, guitarist and singer than Justin Sullivan.

One other myth...
I have even found a relative who still believes that Ring-a-Ring-a-Roses is about the plague.

The first book I´ve read about 9/11 was 2002, watched a lot of the bbc films about it, they changed from year to year, the latest versions are saying (in my words): only idiots think the bush administration version can`t be true ...
I think, I`m not an idiot, if I still have doubts
I thought too long , Colin Powell would never say something wrong talking about the Irak war  >:(
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Hell no!  Without a warrant nobody comes in (unless they're prepared to be eaten by dogs, at any rate).

See, that's why I love this thread... I also genuinely believed that!  After a bit of internet research, it's not true at all.  It's a rhyme that's been going on for centuries, in many countries, with many different meanings.  Thanks for that, Wobs!

Had forgotten all about that one! My older brother, himself a later product of the show and its era, always cranked those out regularly, along with Barney's Ass (Barnabas - no reflection of Barney Sumner, I'm sure) and the innocent enough named, for the times, Willy.

'Kipper me capstans' and 'blistering barnacles' leave plenty to the imagination. Oh, the 'innocence' of those times.

Thinking of kids TV shows and double entendres... this, from 'Rainbow' in the 70's, was apparently broadcast... it really wasn't, it was a bit of fun that the makers did for their own amusement... never officially released, hence the poor quality, but so funny...
