Beeing of the road we are listening to lot of music one of us has on cd ore on other devices
Very interesting
The last running gag: do you like "Doom Metal"?  ...  noooo ;D
But what kind of music is or which bands play "Doom" in your opinion?
Old hard rock bands, Type O Negative, My Dying Bride?

And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Firstly 'old hard rock bands' like Type O Negative and My Dying Bride... who I remember when they were new... that's a big old  >:( from me...  ;)

I'm a metal fan, but this does seem to be a very niche genre.  Metal has so many genres and sub-genres, part of what I love about it.  I did 10 minutes of research and had heard of almost none of the bands mentioned.  To make matters worse, it seems that 'doom metal' is split into eight different sub-genres, according to the hardcore fans!

Black Sabbath seems to be the overwhelming influence over this whole scene.  I like Sabbath, without actually loving them.

I know that Wikipedia isn't usually regarded as the most accurate of resource materials, but it may help...

Be interested to see what finer metal-minds than mine think...

Well, I think people pretty much agree when someone says that Black Sabbath's ''Black Sabbath'' is the first doom metal song... Whatever, I'm not that much into Black Sabbath but that's an epic song, gotta love it  8) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISXnYu-Or4w

Also, now when we're on this topic, I'd like to ask you to join and appreciate the ''Doom Metal and Marshmallows Day'' on the 21st of July. This goes back a few years... I found my old diary from 2005, and on 21st of July, there was only one sentence written: ''Today I ate marshmallows and listened to doom''. So ever since I found my old diary, on 21st of July, I've eaten marshmallows and listened to doom metal.
Here's ''From the Void'' from Reverend Bizarre's ''Harbinger of Metal'' EP...
