getting around during these December shows.
« on: August 26, 2017, 03:26:12 AM »
I'm looking at plane tickets from detroit, or toronto, they are not too crazy yet....  so i think I can pull this off.
But how do you all suggest is the best mode to get from Koln, to Holland,  and all that 14th through 17th?
i would like to hit at least 3 of those 4 shows.

Looking forward to some advice!

Cheers
Kevin

hi,
it's very easy between all the cities of the XMas shows  :D
London to Paris: direct train Eurostar www.eurostar.com (from London St Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord)
Paris to Koln: direct train Thalys www.thalys.com (from Paris Gare du Nord to Koln HBF) - can be 35 euros if booked 3 months before
Koln to Amsterdam: direct train ICE (inter city express) from Koln HBF to Amsterdam Centraal Station (https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml) can as cheap as 30 euros

so, you can do the 4 gigs  ;D

see you there  ;)

I think there are buses too if on a tight budget. It is easy. Western Europe in generally very easy. You can book eurostar now. It is fairly expensive. it was like 60 usd for a two hour ride. The other trains can be booked three months in advance. I would suggest that as they sell it cheaper at first, then the prices go up drastically.

Patrice gave good information. I hope you do make it over and if you have questions about travel , don't hesitate to ask.
Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.
