A great band who disappeared up their own arseholes. Sad really.
Tonight, as you stare at the ceiling again
With your lover turning away
Disappointment closing in
Like the walls... and you try...
You try to talk about love
And they put their arms around you
But you still feel all alone
Wonder why...

I liked them in the 80's and 90's, in part because my older brother was a big fan...i remember the day in 1988 when he bought   the "...and justice for all" vynil! :) 8)
Some great songs and cool albums from "kill"em all" to "...and justice"! I was a bit mixed with the black album though, despite some good tracks. I haven't listened to the others albums after that one.

"Welcome home sanitarium", great song...i also like "Orion"..."Master of puppets" is probably the album i've listened the most from them.

I used to be quite a fan of their bass played Robert Trujillo when he was in Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves, both bands that i loved in my teenage years!!

And what about Megadeth?

A metal album without a decent bass sound is a sad thing

Indeed! Think of the sadly missed Phil Lynott with his Lizzy's incredible bass lines!
Steve Harris...and Trujillo.

I loved Metallica as a kid, but somehow they turned into a bunch of sad, fat old men who made shit albums and got away with it based on the quality and passion of their first three.
Uhh, can't we say that about most bands? I guarantee you that some say that very thing about New Model Army.

I was a bit disappointed with NMA's last album, i must say...even if their gigs are always cool and Justin has always passion in him.

So hopefully want these to be my last words on this thread.I love some of  Metallica music does no mean I love them personally. It did not make me sad to see they turn into a bunch of waste shitty personalities in years. But look who's coming man.Look at that walking charisma and you can feel that who has the real heart and dedicated soul.Rest in peace Captain. There is no single day you won't be missed.Raising my glass to you and bow respectfully on your memory.F...k Beatles,Elvis,Rolling Stones and Keith Richards as Dave Grohl said.
