Top five ways to spend a bank holiday monday:

1 - Wake up at six am to yet more bloody snow;
2 - Accidentally buy another fishing rod;
3 - Decide that the fishing rod had better be given to the better half, as I did promise her one some time ago;
4 - Realise that the melt-water from aforementioned snow was flooding down the lane, so go and dig out 100 yards of drainage ditch, unblock a drain under the road, lift the manhole cover and scoop shedloads of rotting leaves and mud out of the hole before unblocking the pipes which were full of cack;
5 - Moan about it all on the internet.

Haha!

My Bank Holiday Monday was this...

1 - Woke up just after 1pm after drinking rather a lot last night.

2 - Looked at the clock, turned over and went back to sleep for another hour.

3 - Got up, made cheese on toast with sausages and baked beans, scoffed it whilst watching a new episode of 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'.

4 - Nodded off again.

5 - Wide awake and checking out what my friends are up to online!

That's a fine Bank Holiday IMO...   :D

Little Britain. The only Gay in the Village is as camp as Witty. Is it offensive or a stereotype?
.
.
You honestly don't see that it is both? It was very offensive and it sure went for the bigoted stereotype of a homosexual. As I asked earlier, why couldn't the macho Richard Burton be the homosexual character? Nah, that would be no good. Instead the filmmakers decided let's get a homosexual in this film and make him prance about calling all the other men "lovelies." Offensive and a horrid stereotype.

By the way, you mention TV. We had an historic breakthrough in our television here in the States just two weeks ago. Homosexuals have been stars of our TV series now and then...but only in comedies and their homosexual nature was always a part of the story (part of the jokes, really). But two weeks ago a dramatic TV series began where the main character is a homosexual (married to a man) and his homosexuality has nothing to do with the story. He's just a guy who happens to be married to a man. (Oddly (stereotypically) enough they did make the character a Brit. Us Americans are not gay, but the British are. That's how our TV productions work around here.)

It is Alan Cumming as our first gay main character in a TV drama. A crime show called "Instinct."

It was also an openly gay man playing a bigoted stereotype. Maybe he hates gay men or something!! There are camp gay men as there are not camp gay men. I see no point in carrying this on. I wont change your mind as you wont change mine. I do agree that their has to be an equal representation of both.

Anyhoo

Let's not forget Brick and Skipper, though.  1955 for the stage.

Seeing as a certain someone (who described himself as a 'New York pugilist' once... how does the gay scenario work in those bars?   ;D) seems to have appointed himself 'The King Of All That Is Gay And Will Be Offended By Anything That Is Regarded As Gay), here's my top five gay characters from TV... and I'll even put a few lines below so there wont be any spoilers, because I'm not a terrible person, as was previously indicated...

SPOILERS!

Let's do the big one:

Top Five Things That Are Destroying Civilization

- fundamental religious beliefs
- comic book movies
- the internet (used to be a harmless village idiot; now every nut can connect with other nuts)
- insects
- FOX News (for you foreigners who don't know what FOX News is, just think Joseph Goebbels with the ability to reach a billion people)

Show me where insects are destroying civilisation and have no purpose at all

 No doubt you'll correct me IF I happen to be wrong but I'm sure insects apart from bees aslo help with pollinations, some plants can ONLY be pollinated by one certain type of insect

They also are an important part in the food chain for other animals

They also help in the environment by decomposing organic matter, without insects we would be over run with waste material

Also as the body of an insect is largely composed of nitrogen this then returns to the soil

So are insects really destroying civilisation, I doubt it very much
Is is a crime to believe in something different?

I meant what I said at the time that I said it
