Hello, quick intro..

Hi all,

Quick hello from the sunny climes of Birkenhead.

Hope to catch some of you at a gig before too long. We're another family who have brought the kids along (youngest is 16 now).  They love anything from folk to metal, but especially New Model Army.

We were out and about recently, I had my NMA hoodie on. As we walked past the busker he stopped what he was playing and took up "four O'clock in the morning.... And still we cannot sleep.."

I gave him a quid, but I think he was after the hoodie. Maybe next time...

Welcome, Michael, please post often!  Got any gigs lined up?  If you can make it to Nottingham on 22nd December, you'll meet many of us lovely folks / utter miscreants (delete as applicable) who are active on this Forum, always a warm welcome.  Some band or other will be playing as well, so that's a bonus.   ;)

OK...so where the heck is the Metroploitan Borough of Wirral???

It's across the Mersey from Liverpool I hope lol n it's a big town that everyone in the UK knows.

The only reason why anybody heard of the Mersey is because of that Gerry and the Pacemakers song. But that song was 50 years ago. I bet you nobody under the age of 25 ever heard of the Mersey.

As for Liverpool...I believe some famous band came from Liverpool and put that place on the map. Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

Once again (just like that Birkenstock wiki) a town is described by being from somewhere else. Guess what? New York City isn't described that way. It doesn't say the following on Wiki:

"New York City is a town in Straford on the Hudson, County Cork."

No, it doesn't work that way for New York City. Just says King Kong came here and died here. If you can make it here, you'll make it anywhere. Kong couldn't make it here.
