Stage Times For Camden?
« on: April 17, 2019, 03:16:38 PM »
Anybody know what the start/finish time for Camden Rocks is likely to be.  I can only do it if it's there and back in a day and my last train is 10:30.  Looking on the site Frank Turner appears to be the headline so wondering if that means that NMA will finish before he starts or with it being multi venue does each one have a headline act at the same time?

Saw which was the winning side still I joined the other

No times announced as yet.  If you go to the official Camden Rocks website they will put you on a mailing list to announce the official start times closer to the dates.  I know, not much help if you're looking to buy in advance!

Would have liked to make this one, but alas...   :'(

Times have been announced and NMA will be on at the Underworld at 8-45pm.

And this is where I would like a bit of advise from previous NMA goers at Camden Fest... I would like to go but have no interest in anything else and would be going solely for NMA. Considering the Underworld can hold I would say 700-800 would I manage to get in or would I have to go early and watch the earlier bands?

Festival and train tickets combined would be dear and don't fancy paying it to be stuck outsidee...

Thanks!

As I understand it, you won't get into the gig as a pay on the door.
You have to buy a festival ticket and then exchange it for a wristband on the day.
The wristband will get you into any one of the 19 venues hosting Camden Rocks during that day.
The problem is, once a venue is full then it's a "one out = one in" scenario.

The Underworld site says it's a 500 capacity room.
NMA played the Jazz Café (420 capacity) the last time they were there but I've no idea what the crowd, or queues, were like.

There last time I was at Camden Rocks, people mostly moved out once the band(s) had finished as opposed to staying in one place for any period of time.
Having said that, if I was going this year, I would go to the Underworld for the band before NMA, or even two bands earlier. I'd rather get in than leave it to chance. I don't think you'll see them play a smaller room.

To you gp(h)… (and anyone else who wishes to see actual full-blown, 5pc NMA in a much smaller venue)

Please do yourselves a HUGE favour and heavily consider travelling abroad.  Even if that means crossing the ocean, or even, going it alone.  It is SO worth it!  Especially, if you can work up the necessary cash to cover all the costs.  Trust me, you'll kick yourselves for not doing it sooner.  My advice, is to start saving up for it... TODAY!  Best Wishes.  :)

You are, of course, correct 8.
Unfortunately, I think my travelling days are long gone.

Hi gp(h),

If it's ok to ask  :(  what happened?  I'll understand if you do not reply, as it is really none of my business.  Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way.  Hope today will be a brighter and happier day for you  :-\  than the past few.

Take care.

Hi 8
No big story behind it, just had my fill of travelling (long distances).
Flying is no longer the fun it used to be and don't get me started on airports.

Like you said, gigs abroad are special.
Everyone should do it.

Hello gp(h),  :)

I understand, especially the airports thing.  Hope you are able to see NMA/JS as often as you can, when they're gigging closer to home.  Thanks for your reply and for sharing all that you did.  :)

Best wishes,
