Post your wish-setlist with the new songs
« on: August 23, 2019, 02:16:33 PM »
So this is a bit early, with many people still waiting for the new release, but i couldn't help myself wonder how the new songs will fit in a great setlist.
Please post your idea of your wish-setlist with the new songs, just the way you would want it to be. Still a very difficult task...

One option could be: the whole new Album non-stop, with the older songs afterwards...but that would be too easy, wouldn't it?;-)

I thought a 23 songs setlist would please me;-)

Rumour & Rapture
The Weather
Great Disguise
End of Days
Poison Street
Lights Go Out
Conversations
Ocean Rising
Between Dog and Wolf
Wonderful Way to Go
Eyes get used to the Darkness
Never Arriving
Maps
Sunset
Wipeout
Weak & Strong
Where I Am
From Here

Encore 1
Burn the Castle
Get Me Out
I Love the World

Encore 2
Betcha
Vagabonds

And damn, this feels alreay imperfect, so many possibilities and so many songs already missing from that list and the order is also not the best...

Having only given the new album a couple of listens - here's mine - a mix of 6-7 new songs (they'll probably do more) & a range of songs across their previous albums in what I think is a good flow....though obviously, I could return tomorrow and pick 23 different ones! Enough hits for the neutrals, some lesser heard stuff etc etc

1.)   Passing through
2.)   Never Arriving
3.)   Ambition
4.)   Eyes Get Used To the Darkness
5.)   11 Years
6.)   The Weather
7.)   End Of Days
8.)   Angry Planet
9.)   Strogoula
10.)    Afternoon Song
11.)    One Of The Chosen
12.)    Where I Am
13.)    Purity
14.)    Seven Times
15.)    Ocean Rising
16.)    Prayer Flags
17.)    125 mph (just because it's been ages since this has been played live)
18.)    Watch & Learn
19.)    Poison Street
20.)    Here Comes The War

21.)    R & R / Maps
22.)    No Rest
23.)    225

11 - Poison Street
12 - Brother

Very good setlists there and a fun to read, both times i thought: yes, this would make a good concert! And as we all know, with that huge amount of songs there would be endless variations which all would work out beautifully. Hope some more people try out to imagine setlists with the new songs...

I've shouted for Master Race for decades without any joy. You'd think I would have learnt my lesson

Oh, so YOU'RE the reason why, after three decades of going to see NMA, that I've only ever heard that song (one of my very faves) played a couple of times...   >:(   ;)

Master Race was last played 10 ys ago. About time then!

And about the setlist: I hope they will play almost every song from the new album. Song i'd like to hear live and never give up hope hearing it live some day:

Far better thing

And they could play Western Dream.

Yes. I might be the reason why Master Race hasn't been played (in Scotland) for decades. I love the vitriolic songs, Watch and Learn is certainly up there with the likes of Master Race and RnR.

while you're very busy talking OT, which i enjoyed reading though, i was working hard on a super new setlist.
imagine this:

beginning
never arriving
ballad of bodmin pill
weak & strong
the weather
setting sun
r&r
modern times
far better thing
my country
end of days
devil
passing through
according to you
guessing
where i am
autumn
drag it down
master race

watch and learn
white light

higher wall
get me out

damn, again missed another many must-haves...
from now on only 2 day concerts please;)

I've said it before but during my scores of NMA gigs over three decades I don't think there has been a single one that didn't feature at least one song that came 'out of the blue'... Still remember how buzzed I was when they opened up with R n R a few years ago, Chester I think?

Ha, wasn't that on the ten-inch of 'Space'... one of the rarest NMA tracks!
