NMA Istanbul venue
« on: October 24, 2019, 03:53:03 PM »
Venue is a place called Zorlu PSM %100 Studio.Zorlu is a huge complex mall including lots of stores and expensive fine dine! restaurants.I dont know why they choose a place like this but it must be a matter of booking agency, management etc.I've been there for a Brazzaville gig once and should say that the whole sound system was excellent. The mall is in the very center of Istanbul and close to places like Taksim,Besiktas. There's a subway and bus station in front of the mall.Very easy to get in to public transportation.I believe it's going to be an amazing night.Cheers.

You're wellcome jc.If it was 10 years ago I'd recommend Taksim area but nowadays I dont. It's more chaotic than ever and I actually dont go there if I dont have something to do.But of course can be seen as it has some historic places around like some old churches "Tünel" area and "Galata Tower".. Most people from scene there had moved to "Kadikoy" in the Anatolian side.Kadikoy has a lot of bars and pubs and cafes including many metal&rock bars, alternative, indie music venues and nice place to hang in.There's a ferry from there to Besiktas (european side) in every 15 minutes and nice to see the Bosphorus atmosphere and feed the seagulls :) It takes almost 15-20 minutes to Besiktas by ferry.Besiktas is also quiet good to spend sometime but it's not as wide as Kadikoy. There's a place called "The United Pub" in center Besiktas they serve many uk and german based beers and it was okay last time I've been there. And of course lots of pubs and bars can be found by walking there.I cant recommend a specific place but these two areas Kadikoy and Besiktas might be fine.Besiktas is very close to Zorlu Center and as an alternative by a taxi cab you can get there in less than 10 minutes depending on the traffic.

woould like to go as i missed many other gigs but fascio Erdogan invading another country and killing Kurds pissed me off as he always did and no one seems giving a shit as usual in the name of business.
If I was Justin and the band I would not have played there. like no Israel.
sorry, no!

I'm not going to jump into any political issue here about this (which I did before) and I know my thoughts are not really wellcome here on forum by many people on this thing especially, but it's not the point.Cancelling this gig is not going to make anything better or bring a solution to problems. And that fascio is f.king our lives in last 18 years, not yours! So at least we would have one nma night in our lives to have a fresh breath and feel far away from our troubles and forget them  for a while and see the band we love in passion.
And if a chance is given to nma they'd play even in the heart of Syria,Afghanistan,Pakistan whereever the trouble is.That's what makes New Model Army   New Model Army.
