Delighted NMA are back in my hometown. Its a fairly intimate venue circa 600 or so. Anyone hesitating Id say get in quick. Will be a sellout. Cheers Mark

Only one night in Paris :( I'm sooo disappointed, was looking so much for my usual 10 years 2 nights anniversary (done 20 in London and 30 in Paris) and there's only one night :(.
I thought Paris was one of the special place to play for NMA, I can't even descibe how much I'm sad.

Well, we should be happy that NMA played so many times in France (especially Paris... ;)) these last 15 years, since 2005, remember that they did among others at least 6 concerts at the Trabendo a place i think "fits" the band well.
NMA did two nights in Paris le Trabendo in 2010 and it was wonderful but i don't mind at all the fact that they are not focusing/targeting only one french big city this year, but rather splitting their birthday concerts here in two halves, two cities, especially since the Big Band Café at Hérouville Saint Clair/Caen is another really cool little venue with good audience, i saw NMA already 3 times there (2006, 2007 and 2015) and it was as good there as in the Trabendo! Le Trabendo and Big Band Café are really nice places for the NMA concerts, in all cases.  ;)

Perhaps it’s cool in Caen (seen them there for LoHC, Justin asked us to smash the chairs of the venue, that was crazy) but the two nights makes it feels really special, the right celebration for a birthday. I will travel to Paris for the gig but can’t travel to other ones, and that will be the first NMA gig for my (will be) 6 years old son, was hoping for the big thing :). I told the kids last year « no, you’re not coming but next year you will have two gigs ! », and now I feel I cheated them. Note, I use the kids as an argument, but really they don’t mind to have only one night, it’s me that is bitching about it ;). It seems to me I was waiting for that for 10 years now ;).

Having other gigs for the birthday in France doesn’t mean they can’t play 2 nights in Paris, they do it in Dublin and Amsterdam !

But hey, it could have been no gig, still cool to have one night (I try to act positive even if it’s not what I feel :)), and with any luck I will have Vanity for once  ;D

Who knows, if the Trabendo night is sold out fast, maybe they will add another night there!  ;)
I think i will do at least Caen/Hérouville St Clair, because i have really good memories of these concerts at the Big Band Café and i have family living not so far from this city, so.. 8)

Like Justin said once years ago, he doesn't like London and overall big cities far away from Nature, so i'm not really surprised that NMA plays in big cities because they "have" to to pay the rent ! BUT also they play in smaller towns, smaller cities!  :)
We are rather lucky in France, we see them often and not in stadiums but in small/average venues, it's more intimate and better, in my opinion.

Perhaps it’s cool in Caen (seen them there for LoHC, Justin asked us to smash the chairs of the venue, that was crazy)

But was it the same place in Caen you saw them in 1993?
According to this link it was "salle Georges Brassens":

The BBC is fresh and new since 2006 it seems (first time i saw the band there was in February 2006 for "Carnival" french tour)...here's an interview of the man working at the BBC...he's a fan of NMA!  8) ;):

Yes, it was Georges Brassens. I still have the tape somewhere I think. I remember Justin saying "we're sorry about the ******* chairs, smashed them up if you want, this is stupid questions" :). Listened to the tape in front of the venue after, Dave Blomberg came to see us to listen too, it was his birthday he was joyful, nice memories :). Then we parked the car on the beach after that to listen to it again (without Dave this time obviously). And two days later it was Paris, Elysée Montmartre.

Damn I feel old :)

(still no tickets for Paris gig, it was supposed to be yesterday, right ?)

It was supposed to be yesterday, indeed!
And still no tickets for the Hérouville St Clair gig too!

Aw heck... I snoozed and I loozed.  Left it too late for Nottingham and, of course, tickets are sold out.  Damn.

Still got hope for Camden though. I thought I'd missed out for Killing Joke tickets in 2018, it registered as a sold out gig for months and then, a few weeks before the gig, more tickets suddenly became available.  Fantastic venue, one I've been dying to see NMA play.

Still, to not meet up with the usual suspects in Nottingham...  :-\

As there's still no Paris or Caen tickets available, it seems that yes, venues are just waiting to see how it goes !

Paris tickets are available, but not with the regular "tickets" page of the venue nor with Fnac or other resselllers. You need to buy thos directly from the gig page there : http://www.letrabendo.net/new-model-army-2020/

32€ at le trabendo is a bit expensive IMHO (promoter seems greedy, I know the band is not :)).

I hope the band and the audience will not wear gloves and masks in early December!!
