Fellow NMA Forum-ers... do you ever read your old PM's?

I am, right now, private posts from the last ten years or so and I don't know if it makes me happy or sad.  Possibly both at the same time.

I'm happy because there was so much camaraderie back then, silly jokes, support when someone had personal issues, arranging meets at forthcoming gigs,  issues between us that we didn't want going on the main Forum and, sometimes, us being being a bit bitchy just for the fun of it.. 

And I'm also sad because most of those folks don't post anymore (as I didn't for a while and I'm doing my best to make up for it!) and I rarely see a face I recognize over the last couple of years at gigs.

Life moves on... it's a bit like spending years going to a pub where you knew a good proportion of the punters but they drift away when 'real life' gets in the way.  And I accept that.  I hope those who don't post anymore are happy and content in their real lives.  But looking back over those old PM's was both a funny and sad thing. Anyone ever look at those old PM's and how do you feel about them?

I was on the noticeboard from pretty much its beginning. Saw a couple of them go down due to viruses. There was a single thread back then if I remember!

Hey Im still floating about MR. How are you? Our business, my partner surviving the cancer she had in the last two years, seeing our three daughters through school and out into work to become the intelligent business women they now are (hey I'm their dad ;-) ). family sorta keeps me 100% occupied. But I do look in now and again.

Me, I first went on the early versions of these boards circa, gulp, 2004-ish. So I suspect this post is on my 20 year anniversary of my first post.

How is life treating you these days?

Hey, pal!  Nice to hear from an old friend.

Life not too bad for me, ups and downs as ever but things have certainly been far worse.  I was off the Forum for a good long while, Shush got in touch with me a bit ago and got me to thinking about trying to kick a bit of life back into this old Forum seeing as most of the old-timers aren't bothering anymore.  I've been posting a bit but, to be honest, it ain't really working, we're far from the days when there were many of us posting all the time.  Sad but inevitable, a bit like a pub that might have had a large clientele in years gone by but people just stop going in there for various reasons.   

But I still check in a couple of times a week and will always respond to new messages.  Good to see you again!
