Just got hold of the extended version of FIRST AND LAST AND ALWAYS by The Sisters Of Mercy...

I think I've said this before on this forum and 'stop me if you've heard this one before' (as Morrissey once said) but The Sisters usually get thrown in with the Goth movement, but I think this one is far more influenced by the likes of Joy Division... a bloody great album.

I used to love the Sisters of Mercy. I had a couple of albums and around five EP's/ 12" singles. I lent them to a girl I was pursuing at the time and have never seen them since. That was in 1987... should I track her down and ask for them back?  ::)

Yes you should.  Possibly with heavy weaponry and a mask, dammit these women who turn you on and then nick your music  ;D

The Sisters are well worthy of re-investigation and if you can't find that girl, then the albums are all pretty cheap on the usual retail websites.  Go for extended / special editions if you can.  Enjoy and hope for another tour... saw them a couple of years back in London and they were great...

They are a great band. Funnily enough one of my eleven year old boys loves them.

He actually said to me "Dad, have you heard of the Sisters of Mercy because I really like them?"  ;D
