This was really great! I don't know why i have missed that one for so long. I only have The colour of Spring and Laughing Stock in my collection and the Laughing Stock was always one of my favourite pop-albums ever. Laughing Stock is sooo intense and great. But Spirit of Eden is also just like that one. Marvellous!

Now i'm still waiting for my Mark Hollis album, i ordered both together and i'm looking forward to that.

One of my all-time favourite albums together with laughing Stock. Two perfect albums.

I have to admit that the album where this song is from has probably my favourite album name ever: Sing-Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious. Relatable ;D

Lately, I’ve listened to so much metal and going perfectly with Rotten Sound’s slogan ‘Fast music for slow people’… Now I’ve been accustomed to slower music again, thanks to Surrounded… So now, slow music for slow people: The Mount Fuji Doom Jazz Corporation, their album“Succubus” is amazingly atmospheric… Wow… Simply stunning. I remember listening to this a lot during the quiet hours of night shifts some years ago. Now, at three o'clock at night, perfect time for this album... :)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvAtGjZc_sc

Listening and watching… Meshuggah’s Ophidian Trek -live. Exploiting the great speakers and the time alone at work ;) This live is amazing, what a beautiful atmosphere… Besides goosebumps and constant eargasming I, literally, found myself drooling while listening to this… Like, wth? The human body truly is a mystery ;D

I wouldn't say that it makes me drool but my head begins to make moves on its own ;-) I wonder what would happen if i start drooling while headbanging...becoming a superspreader...ha, ha.. ;D

Just noticed Birdflesh has a new EP out... Grindcore makes me happy :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7ZDEpoKdE0

I made a huge mistake due to an error in judgment and actually read the lyrics... Make a mental note: Do Not read lyrics for grindcore... ;D As(s) it already ruined my day, I hereby share this beautiful sample of pure poetry from a song called Kickstart My Ass:

Garlic, you are my holy grail
Combined with chili you never fail
A thousand cloves and insane heat
I’m a purgatory on two feet
Sweating, snoring, craving more
An appetite for anal gore

I'm on a bit of a Grunge trip at the moment (damn, is that whole scene about 30 years old now?)   :-[

The Big Four of that scene were always Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains (imho) which is a bit odd seeing as they don't sound really like each other!  My fave of them all was Soundgarden, such a great band, but the one that always passed me by somewhat was Alice In Chains.  Been listening to some of their stuff and, dammit, what a great band.  Can't believe I didn't really get into them 'back in the day'.

And it occurred to me, the other day, how sad it is that so many grunge-related folks have died since.  Eddie Vedder is the only lead singer of the previously mentioned 'Big Four' who is still alive.  :'(

Anyone else got any fond memories of the grunge scene?

Huge fan of Talk Talk here.  LS and SOE are marvellous works of chilled out genius and TCOS is certainly one of my top five albums ever.

Don't dismiss the first two albums, The Parties Over and It's My Life.  Yes, they are far more commercial than what went after (and btw, Laughing Stock a 'pop' album?  What kind of weird-ass 'pop' music you been listening to?   ;)  ;D ) but there are some wonderfully melodic and gorgeous tunes here like Tomorrow Started, Candy, The Last Time, The Parties Over...check them out.

I was genuinely saddened to hear that Mark Hollis passed away a couple of years ago.  Somewhat of an overlooked genius....   :'(
