Neil Young...

Hi, i only own a few reissues namely ''In The Land Of Grey And Pink'' 40th. Anniv. issue by Caravan plus 50th. issues of ''American Beauty'' and ''Working Mans Dead'' by Grateful Dead....i will not be buying Harvest for as much as i love the album (ducks for cover) it is not my favourite Neil album....yes it is a classic but my (somewhat unusual) choices to many ,are in no part order....''Zuma'', ''On The Beach'', ''American Stars And Bars'', ''Tonight's The Night'', ''Time Fades Away''..plus i prefer ''After The Goldrush'' to ''Harvest'', but each to their own... it would be a pretty dull world if we all didn't have different tastes/opinions on things.. 8)..

warm lol.  You're right Ghosttrain, it certainly would be a dull world if that were the case.  Love your Neil picks as well!  Notably "American Stars and Bars", but particularly "Zuma", which ranks pretty high on my list also... among SO many others that neither of us have mentioned, thus far.  warm lol, we could and would be here all day!  Neil's just written so much phenomenal material, and the majority of it has been exceptionally moving, thought-provoking, melodic, powerful, intense, soul-shifting, and utterly brilliant.  Love him.  Neil's another guy who can be in one's face (loud and angry as fcuk) or in one's arms (soft, warm and gentle)... just like someone else we all know around these here parts. 8)

Appreciate your generous post, Ghosttrain.  Have yourself a wonderful day (or evening, etc.), and happy listening...  whatever (or whomever) it is you've got presently spinning.  Cheers. :)

I want to wish a very happy album release day to Ceri!!! This stuff tickles just the right spot on this gloomy, doomy day - I was just listening to the whole album with headphones on while lying down on bed, staring out of the window, watching the dark clouds drifting by. I liked the singles released earlier, but I was frankly surprised how much I loved the album... or maybe not surprised, I've never been much of a fan of singles as it always is the whole album that gives the context. I was planning to buy a digital album but now it looks like I need to have the physical copy... :D

Thank you, I wish all the best with the band and hope you'll have a proper celebration as you guys have done effin' wonderful job!  8)

Some proper sea shanties - this is video footage Stan Hugill, who was perhaps the last man alive who'd sung shanties for real work having gone to sea at 16 on a square-rigger in 1922 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znW01dlU0n0&pp=ygULc3RhbiBodWdpbGw%3D

Excellent...........and also very apt,it is The Jersey Boat Show this weekend and out of my window i can see The Gotheburg from Sweden moored in the harbour. It is the largest Ocean going wooden ship, built in 2005 it is a replica of the original which sank in 1745, at 47m x 11m and weighing 788 Ton.it is a magnificent sight.Google it,it is well worth a look.

Back on topic   Daryl Hall and John Oates ''Abandoned Luncheonette''....lovely album for a sunny (but windy)morning  8)...
