The last Marillion album I really listened to, my personal opinion is that I prefer them with Fish
Should I give any of the other releases with Steve Hogarth a listen?
Personally no. MR will be after my guts now!!
Season of the witch- Donovan
Burning Season, rather an under-rated one from NMA in my opinion...
Ha, DrummyB! Back to Marillion... I do get that post-Fish era Marillion is very different to the stuff that was more popular in the 80's. Red, can I ask how you feel about Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel (if we've covered this before, sorry) because that's the best way I can describe their output since. I'll alway loved 'Brave', the musicianship is excellent and it's a proper 'concept album' like MC, all the songs flowing into each other in a perfect fashion... imagine the more mellow bits of early Marillion but 77 minutes of it with the occasional rock-moment. 'Marbles', the two-CD version, has some cracking good songs on it. I dunno... check out this live one, (This Town / The Rakes Progress / 100 Nights), might make you wonder if the Hogarth era is worth further investigation..? If nothing else, you can't deny that Rothers still sounds great...
