A perennial favourite from my favourite Divinyls album, 1985's "What A Life!"  Have trouble listening to this song in particular, and / or watching its video these days, in the same way that I once did.  It's become even more melancholy, for me, now.  I immediately begin to well-up, to the point where the rush and steady build of knots completely takes over me.  In my heart, in my mind, and in my eyes, Ms. Amphlett was among one of the best things that ever, ever happened to the world of modern rock music.  She was so fearless, badass, sexy, real, genuine, and yet, at times, delicate, fragile, and vulnerable, even.  Severely under appreciated, grossly underrated singer, artist, performer, front woman.  Chrissy was incredible, ballsy, without being butch-y or butch-ish, you know what I mean?  She could spew, roar and bite with the best of them, without coming off as rough or gruff.  She never lost her soft side, sweet side, feminine side.  I love and cherish that most of all, about her.  Again, it was that opposites and contrasts thing, which was so very much alive and well in and with Ms. Amphlett.  Chrissy was someone truly special... a sparkling, radiant gem, rare treasure indeed, through and through.  She was a template, one of the ladies that set the standard, and raised the bar, though she continually goes uncredited, unrecognised, unacknowledged for this.  Love her madly.  Miss her dearly... her sparkle, light, and spirit... so much.   :'(  xx
