Anyone else had a rough day?
« on: March 23, 2012, 12:54:07 AM »
I opened the cupboard ABOVE my vinyl (extensive and valuable) collection tonight and picked up a small item, to see a damp patch in it's wake............. ???

More moving stuff quickly produced a visible WET area from a dripping boiler!!!!!!!!!

AARRRRRRRGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! :'(
Frantic emty shelves mode...... Luckily it's only recently started leaking and my friendly plumber's done the job n not taken money!!!!!!! "No no, it';ll be from the job I did 2 weeks ago, musta knocked the joint! sorry about that! Just glad no real harm's done mate!"........
Firstly, THANK THE GODS my records weren't affected at all, BUT....... The plumber's just raised his estimations in my book 1000 fold!!!!!! Admitting blame, not charging fer a 10 pm rapid response? BLINDING!......
I thought that sort of thing had died a death.......... Bloody glad to say it hasn't! 8) Faith in the species duely restored............

There are good people out there. We have a mechanic who charges next to nothing for labour, which is just as well as we have a french car. I just keep him supplied with music and wagon wheels. He's not convinced with NMA yet, still working on it..
Today is a good day, however, yesterday was s.... The older I get the better I was.

Cheers mate, I'm surprised my yelp of panic wasn't audible to dogs accross the nation when I saw the pool of water.....
Abject terror and fear of loss isn't overly pleasant as emotions go.............. :o

I've commandeered a great old chest for my vinyl....and haven't told the kids about it as I don't want my old treasures used as frisbees.... ;D

Why is it, that if crap is going to happen its going to be at Easter? dog got very ill so we cancelled a holiday, the bloody fence blew down, various in laws advised 'not to start reading a thick book' and the next Mrs Ny decided we needed the new Olly Muirs cd in our lives. Really?
Oh and to round it off the next Mrs Ny also suggested I could sell my cd collection on line for 30p each. Speechless.

PS. At least Pompey, with no money, team of kids, outplayed and to all intent and purpose stuffed the so called top of the league S***. That's it, footy talk over. Sorry. Oh and the mighty Gosport Borough soundly beat Sholing - a mini Pompey V S*** non league match. So there we are. No more footy, honest.

Still waiting on insurance offer, but had to borrow a grand to get a fresh Swedish beast......... Which, in fairness is a nicer motor than the last one. But.........
