Before I get too old
« on: September 21, 2012, 05:02:47 PM »
There are some artists I missed to see playing live without a chance to say "perhaps next time" - they are gone (rip)
Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Calvin Russell, Rory Gallagher ...
Missed them, because: too young, lack of time, money, information (the internet is not soo old and avaiable for people  as a source of info as it now) or other reasons ...

Which ones are yours "too late now" ?

And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Queen (the only line up), Lizzy (although I love Ricky, I'd love to have seen Phil), Metallica with Cliff, DC with Bon, The Doors, Jimi, The Who with the Ox & Moon, plenty more I've forgotten temporarily...

.                                                                               I'm just a country mile behind the world...

The Clash, Joy Division, The Smiths, Sex Pistols (at the time, I don't care about the recent years rip-off reunions), The Sisters of Mercy with Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams (or previous line-ups) and plenty more, mainly due to me being too young and/or living in the wrong country at the time...

Great topic!

Nirvana (for obvious reasons :'()
16 Horsepower (because I discovered them just after they quit, dammit)
The Who (because 60 Deutschmark was too much for me back then :P)
Raw Melody Men (because back in 1992 secret gigs were indeed secret ;))

Marillion with Fish (odd one, I know!!)

Not odd at all - great band!
Unfortunately, I started listening to them around Clutching at Straws after which Fish left.
BUT: I once saw Fish without Marillion :P ;D which was great as well :)

I met  Marillion on their He Knows You Know Tour....... Then missed the bloody gig that night....... Lift let me down.....  :'(  I've been a fan of the Fish era stuff from the Market Square Heroes on wards. Still got all my vinyl/picture discs. Bought the double disc editions of the records on cd years ago aswell.......

I'm just here to say I saw Rory Gallagher live and make some people jealous.

it's not too late for Leonard Cohen, he plays this week-end in Paris but 100 euros is way too much...

To mention Gallagher live - that`s not fair >:(

Just back from a funeral ceremony (he was 86, but unexpected) ..., that kind of 5 hours can be  endless, longer than 10 hours working

One member of my "want to see live, before it`s too late"- list is Roy Harper - but he doesn`t play outside UK these days (when was his last gig not only for the "Inselaffen"?)
