"We Love the World"
« on: April 16, 2013, 01:24:53 PM »
CD/DVD due for release on 3rd June apparently, I'm guessing it's a live album from the CD/DVD combination. Anyone have more details?

This is the live Astoria gig ("161203") previously released in 2004. However, we are surprised to find this being promoted and we're looking in to it

Well, it's been released now, according to online stores.  Any thoughts?  It appears to have the full set on DVD.  Isn't this set included on the DVD/CD Anthology, but missing one or two tracks?

there is an older thread on that release, maybe that helps (more concerning the officiality than the contents):  https://board.newmodelarmy.org/index.php?topic=7364.0

Cheers flodhaest

Good day, flodhaest. :)

Thanks for jumping into that other thread and leading me to this one.  Unfortunately, I wasn't around this place, at the time, and so missed this very important thread.  I appreciate you finding it for those of us interested in these sorts of / this re-release.

I'm finding it terribly odd, weird, that Viv left this one hanging and for as long as it has been dangling.  Or, did Viv ever clear things up elsewhere, in another thread that I'm not aware of?  As one can see, I'm not fully up to speed, but would like to be.

So forgive me for asking... what's the end deal with this one, Viv?  Did you manage to find out, back in 2013?  Is this item / video legit?  But more importantly, will NMA earn anything from interested folk purchasing a copy of this re-release OR by viewing it on amazon.com? ???

Any further details from the front = you Viv (or anyone else from the NMA home team), would be greatly appreciated by many floating here.  An update in this thread might even prove to be somewhat of a help / beneficial to NMA&co., since folk can choose to boycott this re-release, especially, especially, if NMA doesn't in fact receive any royalties, cut of the sales.  It is essentially, their labour of love, their work, their art after all.

How about it Viv, :-\ please... throw us a line?

Hello, if Viv doesn't know about it then it's not official, that should be all you need to know.

Cheers

It is a re-release of the 2003 DVD from the Astoria 16/12/03 by a company trying to make more money out of old rope. Yes I suspect the band do get paid several pence for each copy - and it will actually be pence, but all-in-all it's just a cynical re-packaging job that is out of the hands of the band.

This thread died in 2013. Exhuming it was a cruelty...

Dear Viv, NMA et al.

I am so extremely, incredibly, genuinely sorry.  As I stated earlier, I wasn't anywhere near here, these boards, back in 2013.  I had no inkling of any of this information.  I am also the only NMA 'fan' I know in real life and so, had no one else to really ask about this.

Viv, you run this beautiful place, sacred space.  So, please, put things right and kill all of my posts.  In the name of NMA nd this wonderful place, please and delete my account if you must.

I never came here with intentions to cause or bring harm or upsetanyone or thing, however slight, ever - especially, especially anyone in or around the band.

I also failed to realise that bumping up old threads was a serious no-no here.  I'm ssssssssoooooooooooo sorry.

Thank you for the hard lesson and strong and honest reply.  I see the door, it's time I returned from whence I came.
