Sorry to be so self centred. But 6-month hospital check up yesterday, Consultants words; blood pressure "perfect", cholesterol "of a twenty year old", heart "in very good shape". Always very very good to hear after the nightmare 2016.

Again apologies for it being all about me, but in doesn't half make you feel mentally better!

Anyway back to being an annoying political devils advocate.  ;)

Be funking proud of yourself !
This is all about you !

I'm glad you are well and can leave the bad health way behind you. Onwards !!

 :-*

You too. As you said....ONWARDS!  :)

Great news from ldopas, indeed. We all are happy that both ldopas and Wessy are fit and feeling well nowadays.

I'm happy about the past weekend. We did a lot of things. Went to markets and bought six albums. I also sawed the boards for new terrace stairs that I've been designing (a bit too slowly). And now it also looks like that the delicious Jerusalem artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus) are growing. I planted 30 of them in June.

It makes me happy to read the good health news on here  :) Keep it that way  ;)

Me, I'm just happy with my furry babies not all of which are in perfect good help but - hopefully - on the mend.  :)

How long is your growing season up there fella? When do you get the first frosts? I'd have guessed you would need a glasshouse to get stuff started/finished off?  :-*

p.s. as for Rabbits - kill 'em all  ;D

As long as they don't go back in time and eat some bad American actors, your bunnies are OK with me.

At earliest we  might get first frosts on October or sometimes even at September. Latter is very uncommon. Nowadays October it's more likely but after that it goes back to "warm" and moist. It's only until new year when it turns to winter seriously. (In eighties we got winter in October or November.)

What comes to artichokes, we've had them once earlier. I think it was November when I dug them up. It's also nice to keep them sometimes "over winter" beneath the ground. They're ready for pick up on March or when ever the soil isn't frozen anymore. :)

Meeting some good old friends at next weekend. There's also the Tall Ships Race fest in Turku we'll go on Sat. And also - my Summer holiday starting finally... Oh  gotta love it. Although we didn't make it to Mainz or other gigs in Germany this time. Wish you all a great weekend and sunny days out there.

2 years ago today I was having my brain tumour removed.
Things are going really well and I have lowered my medication by 1 dose with not too much trouble or consequence.

 :)

Today was also the last day for this years nursery kids,so we partied all day. Just tomorrow to get through doing all the cleaning and re-vamping for September.

Off for a slap up meal with Landells later in a lovely pub in view of Silbury Hill.

Today is a good day.

 :)

The fact that I've been wearing a posh designer dress (Dickens & Jones, darling) that cost £2 from the Sally Army shop and have been looking blummin "c.ock On" all day is an added bonus.

 :D

There's a funny tradition at our work to bring superb delicacies to workmates before starting a summer holiday. And we are making it a tuff "challenge" to others in a way: "who'll bring the biggest cake or pie this year?" It's even a bit expensive funny habit as sometimes one might spend 20-30 euros for this thing.

Well, this time I made twelve supersized hamburgers with self made tasty seitan steaks in hoi sin sauce, tahini and vegetables for our usual long coffee break. Ha! Everyone got so stuffed that they even moved their lunch time further that they could digest their own portions.  ;D

We don`t have this funny tradition here in germany, only a minority doesn`t work (or  isn`t allowed to work) at the same time (teachers) or so called "Betriebsferien"
I have to work - others with own kids (their summer holiday started today) are off (and come first to be off,  a holiday with niece  or nephew  or kids of partners or friends sometimes don`t count) - no party at all for me  >:(
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?
