Heh.. I dusted off the old lump of steel resembling a mountain bike the other day and took it for a ride.

Best bit was when I was overtaken on an uphill stretch by an old man out jogging!

Seen a few "unfit" looking people out on there bikes lately,  I find it hard enough to walk up some of hills about here . Got a excellent walk in yesterday (for me anyway) didn't go too far today only done a hour .

True story... out for a walk today and, totally out of the blue, ran into an old friend who I haven't seen in about 25 years.  And, get this, he's been living about two minutes walk away from where I do.  Small world, innit?   :D

I hit the 90 kilo mark ( just over 14 stone) . Was over 100k during lockdown ( about 16 stone) . The sacrifices haven't been as bad as expected,  enjoyed walking apart from the blisters but decent socks mainly sorted that. Seriously thinking about the gym when they reopen,  hoping nicola puts them before pubs . Posted a few walks from my tracker on my Facebook ( Pol Muldoon) if anyone interested. Have you tried those special walking socks ? they are like two socks in one the idea being one sock (the inner) rubs against the outer sock and not your foot.I got mine from Milletts or whatever they are called now this was pre Amazon days so i am sure they are probably more avail.these days.I found them very good,i used to do a lot of walking before i started falling to bits...two hip replacements and now surgery needed on my right knee.I even completed the annual round Island walk which is 48.1 miles over pretty challenging terrain cliff paths and the like.....keep up the good work.

Yes I have some, would definitely recommend them,  there called 1000 mile socks . How long did it take to walk 48 miles , I know on half decent roads that's about 15/16 hours

About 19 hours if i remember correctly, but as i said there are some pretty difficult cliff path parts very up and down and not smooth pretty stony/rocky at times............it was a challenge and all for charity so i'm glad i did it.A mate of mine up to a couple of years ago used to do it every year(he is a bit younger and obv.more fitter) once was enough for me thanks. :)......

p.s.yes they are the socks i was thinking of..

MasterRay, that's true! I've been just visiting and reading this forum many years, until I finally decided to participate :) Makes me happy, to have a place like this where people seem to be friendly and respectful

Aw... I think I mentioned I was in a couple of local rock bands back in the 90's... met up with a couple of those guys for a bit of a blast through those old tunes in a rehearsal room in Stoke last night, just for shit and giggles... what a laugh, even though my ears are still ringing a bit today... and even though absolutely nobody in the world is asking for it, we might write a couple of new tunes just for the fook of it...  ;D
