no, there's nothing wrong with wanting it, i think it's similar to why you buy a Richard Cheese album.
I can see the guy who recorded it sitting in some damp dank basement with a cheap keyboard.
It sure does sound like the intro to Purity is done on some cheap keyboard acoustic guitar setting! maybe latino guitar.........................

Listening to the samples, it sounds like something from the keyboard of the D/J at the Pheonix club - Ray Von

The versions with the guide melody are quite amusing. Be good inspiration for when you rock up at the hotel at 3 in the morning (ahem)  ;D

Alternatively there are various instrumentals on youtube if you wanted to save your pennies - this is 225 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjs_1-tB-2Q

You have to admit Barty, you micky mouse or mine after a good pinting session, that NMA Karaoke would be "a real larf"

Love the idea that maybe JS himself would stick it on in his front room for a giggle  ;D

Well I gave 225 a blast last night with that youtube clip and came to the conclusion there wouldn't be quite the passion in the crowd if I were the lead singer.  ;D  ;D

We'll have a sing-song on the train to Leeds mate...

once heard it said that the only good Dylan song was any cover by anyone else, so with that thought you can't be any worse than the original

(before i get Dylan-ed by any Dylan fans, i don't mind him myself, although i do see the point of the above)

I dunno... I'm a singer, it's what I do, and I often find those sorts of performances REALLY moving - singing is nothing without passion and inspiration, sometimes that goes hand in hand with technique and experience, sometimes not, but frankly some of the most enjoyable performances I've seen are people who don't really "do" the whole singing/performing thing and are just having a bloody good go.

So don't talk yourself down and do yourself an injustice - just do it your way, enjoy where you're at, and that will be more than enough.  :)
