Just re-activating this one for a second... no band ever gave out so little and expected so much than f-ing Oasis.  OK,I hugely enjoyed the Maine Road gig, but that was down to the reaction of the fans and everybody being caught up in the whole Britpop thing.  Saw them in Sheffield on the 'Be Here Now' tour and once after that and they were just dreary and terrible...they seriously couldn't be arsed but expected utter worship. Terrible live band.

Anyway, for my part.... Therapy?, in March, playing their best album (IMO) 'Infernal Love' in full!  Well, I'll have a bit of that!

No worries, my friend. Quite frankly, most of my posts fit into that same 'write before thinking' category...  ;)

Back on post, just umming and ahhing about seeing The Stone Roses in Manchester next Summer... if the long-promised new material is forthcoming, I might give it a go, if not then I'm not standing for hours in the open air and queueing for ages for a drink if it's just the same set we all saw three years ago...  :-\

Tomorrow a gig of Balthazar (http://www.balthazarband.be/).  A Belgian band with a very unique sound, which I happen to like a lot! They are playing gigs all around the world these days. Really looking forward to it.

Saw Andy Irvine last night, Im guessing most peeps here would be unfamiliar with him.

What Pentangle where to a renaissance of old English folk tunes with a modern twist (at the time), well Andy Irvine would be considered in same breath in Ireland, he continuously pushed the boundaries, mixed folk, trad, jigs, reels, ballads, mishmash of blues & americana thrown in occasionaly,  traveled & busked his way around Eastern Europe in the late 60's for a couple of years & more gathering songs, learning new instruments/experiences & soaking it up which had a huge influence on the rest of his career & hence Irish traditional music in general. A master craftsmen & even at 73 years of age it was a privilege to see him live finally.

Fish: Farewell to Childhood tour.

Trip down memory lane, Marillion was one of my favourite bands when I was 16/17. Great to hear Misplaced Childhood live again. Have not seen Fish solo before but it was fantastic! If you've got the chance go and see the big man

Love the big man.  Seen him several times.  Did you get hold of his last album, Feast Of Consequences?  Best thing he's done since Clutching At Straws (my favourite Marillion album)...

Sadly, his health and voice seems to be failing, he's just cancelled a few forthcoming dates ... Also, he plans to retire from music after one last album, hopefully released next year...  :-\

One of the best frontmen I've ever seen.  You familiar with his solo stuff?  PM me if not...
