Saw The Buzzcocks at BD's a while back now: was good

the major difference for me was the sense of belonging I feel when in the crowd at an NMA gig I did not get there. --

With ya on that one, do think it's something that marks a band out as special. Only felt something similar at Rise Against and James. Thing is though once you've felt it kinda makes gigs where you don't a bit limp really.

Was a good gig last year - these boys (Munley ;)) performing one stage and in the pit are a bit "special .... ;D
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

I know I'm a spooky ***** and all but Munley is a scary fucker !
I had to hide behind Mark everytime he got down off the stage. This wasn't a good idea, Mark knows the band because he travels America with them every year so both Munley and Slim head for him every time !

Next on the list Billy Talent, closely followed two weeks later by the band that was the soundtrack of my youth: The Cure.

Sham 69 last night.

I didn't know there were so many old Herberts about !
It was a right laugh !
Sham 69 did less than an hour but managed to pack in every song in their whole repertoire !
Got a bit messy when the crash barrier at the front got pushed over by some rather impressive fat old grandads dancing like 19 year old nutters and it collapsed taking a dozen old skins with it.

Great venue ( Meca, yeah, the bingo hall). Would love to get the Army in there.

 :)

Sisters of Mercy in Sheffield last night (awful,as usual, but I still love it).  The Cure on Tuesday...

Didn't know The Sisters were touring, how did I miss that?  Yeah, their performances can be described as 'variable at best', but I also love them.  Jealous as heck about The Cure, couldn't get tickets for anything less than silly money...

Blackballed and Willie & The Bandits tomorrow night in Penzance

I was hoping to go and see them again on Saturday in Honinton but I'm working in Chorley at 2am Sunday morning :)

I'd like to see Fish playing Manchester next December... but it's a Saturday and you-know-who might be doing their classic Nottingham thing...  :-\

We saw The Doors in Concert, a Dutch Doors tribute band.
I'm not too keen on cover bands at all but these guys were great!
The sounded very much like the original and even looked pretty much like them.
Check them out on YouTube!

Home from a weekend watching Blackballed at The Boars head in Kidderminster with Disco Tramps,Bleeding Hearts and Welcome Back Delta and then saw Blackballed again at The Slade Rooms for a private party.

Both nights we have drunk both venues dry of Guinness :) :)

Ended up in the Gifford Arms in Wolvehampton until well past 3am this morning, cracking pub :) :)

Saw Vex Red in Brum on Friday night and they were pretty damned good.  The old stuff still rocked and the few new ones that they played were good too, although less noisy and more wistful.
