Ray - I think you're right two guys with guitars and drums are arena rock.

I just got a few ticks for First Aid Kit.  Had to miss the Afghan Whigs (was looking forward to that one).

Elephant Stone and White Reaper are next on my list.  Girlfriend won't like either band, I don't think.

My mate just posted me about seeing Queens Of The Stone Age (with Iggy Pop supporting) at Finsbury Park, London next Summer... think I'm up for that one.   :D

We'll do Raoul Björkenheim's Triad gig tomorrow in Turku. Top guitars and super virtuosity will be expected.

Great night last night in Manchester watching Fish at The Ritz (my fave Manchester venue) doing 'Clutching At Straws' in full, albeit in an odd order, plus several great tunes from his (under-rated) solo output.  Nothing from his forthcoming farewell album, though, as he promised!

A classic example of how a man can play a blinder of a gig despite his voice being shot all to hell these days.  He's a superb frontman with a great band behind him and the sold-out crowd loved it, drowning out his voice at times with a lovely sing-along.  Cracking good night out!

Recently seen Sleaford Mods in Southampton and Ghost Poet in Portsmouth great gigs in small venues. Saw Honeyblood earlier this year in Portsmouth. Amazing duo. Got The Damned in Feb in Bournemouth which will be good with Paul Gray back on bass and new album beckoning.
