That would have been Danny, he said the gig was good but didn’t like the corporateness of the event.

Cheers

Yep, it was pretty corporate. I haven't been to a major festival in years but I assume they're all like that now, no?

Saw The Cure in Hyde Park on Saturday with Editors, Interpol and others supporting. Had a fantastic day. Saw a few NMA shirts so I thought I'd mention it.

Glad you had a great day.  I've loved The Cure since the 80's but have never managed to see them live for one reason or another.  They're probably the last band who I've yet to put a tick in the 'bands I must see before I die' box.  Ah, one day...  :-\

Oh, I would have loved to go - but no way...I do hope they'll do another proper tour!!!!

For me, the next shows are still a while away...September, to be precise. But I'm already super-excited: I am seeing L.A. Guns twice, in the Netherlands and then they are playing almost around the corner from where I live in Germany - that's a first!!!

Until a couple of years ago I used to road-trip to see them, all across the UK, mainland Europe...and to the US on a few occasions. I have built so many great friendships over the years, many of which still last to this day.

When I started adding more pets to my little zoo, those days were over, obviously, and I thought I probably wouldn't get to see L.A. Guns again - but it seems I was wrong.  :)

My older son Bob (named after Bobert Smith)had free tickets to go but didn't because his girlfriend was suffering from heat stroke.

Shame.

Thanks MR. You should check them out on their next tour. They sounded better than they have in years.

I hope so, too. They do like to play live so I'm sure they'll hit the road again soon.

Shame.

It was stinking hot which kept me from watching some of the other bands that I wanted to see. I saw a few people pass out during the day. 32 degrees, alcohol and no shade is not a winning combination for some people. Shame he didn't go. He missed a good gig. The audience was fanatastic.

Saw the Waterboys the other day. I used to love them in the 80s and hadn't seen them for about 20 years. There were some good moments but I couldn't really get into it. Not sure if the problem was me or them though. Most of the crowd seemed to really enjoy it so it was probably me.

We just returned from a weekend in Edinburgh, visiting the Fringe!  :)

Having mainly been there for the concert of Amanda F***ing Palmer, which was f***ing fantastic btw, we of course also took the opportunity to see a lot of other shows and all of them were great.

Among them was Lady Rizo, an American singer, with a great voice and a very strong opinion of their "Angry Apricot" in the White House and Andrew O'Neill, a very original stand-up comedian, although the humor might not be for everyone, your should check him out  ;). Also comedian Robin Ince, who seems to have a popular podcast/science radio show in the UK, a play starring Sylvester McCoy and Robert Picardo and even a stand-up performance of Vince Ebert, a German comedian/physicist, performing in English and making jokes about both Germans and Brits.  :)

I saw Electric Six at The Live Rooms in Chester on Thursday.  Not a bad turn out and all the usual fun that goes with watching them live.  Dick Valentine for president me thinks.

I saw Bivouac in Manchester to the smallest ever audience I known at a gig that I've attended.  Maybe 25 people at the most which was a shame as they did their debut album Tuber which I've always rated.  On the upside I got a great recording of it with no audience yappers ruining it.
