Always a lot of Killing Joke - particularly "Democracy" and "Pandemonium", although "Night Time" is also a favourite. Haven't warmed to their newer stuff as much as I'd like to, although there are some cracking tunes on Absolute Dissent.
Always, ALWAYS Kate Bush. I've loved her since I was 13, and that's not set to change anytime soon. Favourite albums are "The Sensual World" (often thought of as her worst, but to me it's her best - go figure), "The Kick Inside" and "Hounds of Love". Endlessly fascinating, even after 17 years of listening.
Peter Gabriel, especially the albums "So" and "Us". Liked his recent covers album "Scratch my back" but prefer his own stuff, even though he really brought his own mark to all the songs.
Prong's "Cleansing" is usually on high rotation, too. Especially when I need to get myself into a "let's kick some ass" kind of mood.
Always Metallica, particularly "The Black Album" and "ReLoad" - also love"Master of Puppets" but I need to be in the right mood for that.
Aussie singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke is right up there, too - I love all three of her albums, but the third, "Nightflight" is probably the most accomplished.
I can't write this post without mentioning Tori Amos. Another artist I've loved since my teens - my favourite album is probably "From the Choirgirl Hotel" although they're all worth a listen.
Really interesting reading what you all have to say - there's a lot of overlap in tastes here, but also a hugely eclectic mix!
