Divergent. Not a bad film.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Dawn of planet of the apes.
Saw it in 3d this week.
Brilliant.
The thing I like about these new versions is that they are stand alone and you don't have to know the old Charlton Heston ones or if you do, there are lots of little homages/nods/references back for the super fans.

 :)
Whooosshhhh !!!

CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 - THE WINTER SOLDIER.. excellent, probably the best Marvel comics movie so far and much better than the first one...

I was just watching  Last Days Here  which is a documentary about the Band Pentagram.  All I can say is Wow.Now I am getting into the music of the band and let me say now as a Bass player I try to listen to all styles of music but growing up during the 60's and 70's and listening to the bands and music of the era I know which styles are my favorite and who my favorite musicians  are.

I had heard of the band but never listened to their music Now that I saw the movie and heard these guys on Youtube I must say these guys Rock. I did not know they were around this long. I have heard comparsions to Sabbath and  Blue Oyster Cult and Yes I can hear some of that but these boys have almost a rawer sound if that is even a word and a more street edge. I saw what drugs did to the lead singer man he spent all those years in his own hell but found love and help from people that loved and respected the band and the music . That was a good movie and I got to listen to some at least for me new music even thou it is 40 years ago But it sounds Good.. ;D
Born to Raise Hell and Enjoy every minute of it.

Well, Ron, that sounds like something that has to go on my watch-list... sounds cracking, thanks for the recommendation!

Off-topic slightly, I made a concerted effort to become a bass-player back in the day, but my natural clumsiness and lack of rhythm made it a lost cause... I never got beyond being able to play along with The Clash's first album.  But my failure made me appreciate how the art of bass-playing is so under-looked when it comes to a successful band... and made me appreciate a bass-heavy band like NMA all the more.  Also, the likes of The Who, Joy Division...

Good luck with the bass stuff! Everyone knows that they're the really cool ones...  ;)

Just watched DJANGO UNCHAINED for the first time since I saw it at the pictures... terrific film.  Dammit, I love Tarantino.... the fourth best Tarantino film after PULP FICTION / INGLORIOUS BASTARDS / JACKIE BROWN...

Also re-watched WORLD WAR Z... silly but hugely enjoyable flick!  Love the fact that Peter Capaldi is credited as 'WHO Doctor'...  ;D

(Sidenote - is it worth starting a Doctor Who thread or is that just a bit too sci-fi geeky for an NMA forum..?)   ???

Just found, via the wonder that is the internet, a forgotten classic called NO SURRENDER... an 80's film written by Alan Bleasdale (who wrote the brilliant BOYS FROM THE BLACKSTUFF) and a truly forgotten gem...

It's about a terrible nightclub in Liverpool that has the worst possible double-booking imaginable on New Years Eve.  A lot of dark humour, quite a bit of violence and a whole lot of great acting.  I remember watching it on VHS back in the day, loving it and I'm so glad I got to watch it again.

And, because I'm such a nice guy  ::) here's the link to the full movie on Youtube... you're welcome.  Deffo check it out.

I also recently watched a cracking good film called THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER... yeah, I know, sounds like a crappy teen movie... it isn't, it's much more than that.  it's about a depressed, awkward 15 year old boy who is befriended by a couple of siblings a bit older than him who make his life worth living again.  Lovely film with a genuinely surprising and quite shocking twist near the end... I'd recommend this one.

i haven't watched anything recently to be honest

i made the stupid mistake of friending some lunatic on facebook and all i get now is 10 minute clips of the supposed truth about everything

i'm sort of guessing that this content is simply a stream to confuse people

like we can onyl filter and analyse so much in our poor little brains

this feels like a "you know you are getting old when......" thread comment

i guess you know you are getting old when you start to ramble aimlessly to people on the internet

oh dear
