Not seen it for many years. I imagine its on now as a Bowie tribute. Odd film, not brilliant, but worth watching as Bowie is excellent in it.

Brooklyn, terrific film, looks like a cheesy chick-flick from the trailer but it's a really intelligent and moving film...and Saoirse Ronan is one of the best young actresses working today...

The Big Short, frontrunner for the Oscars this year, excellent movie about the collapse of the US financial system, as documented in the intro for 'Today Is A Good Day'...

I'm not very good when it comes to the financial / bankers thing and I can't say that I understood all of it, despite them helpfully putting in Margot Robbie in a bubble bath to explain part of it    but it's basically about how such a massive amount of utter and complete fraud was committed on the US people that caused hardship for millions of people ...

Just finished Vikings and thoroughly enjoyed it  Interesting to see the pagan/christian conflict played out more fairly than usual and there's also a fair bit of blood 'n' guts 

A couple of films being mooted at the moment: Deadwood which could be awesome (if you ain't seen the tv series - go stream but not if you are offended by choice language  ) and I've also read that The Dark Tower is again being talked about.  A fracking brilliant epic tale from Stephen King which apparently will be spread across film and tv series.  Also read rumours that Idris Elba is in the running to play Roland Deschain (mind you his name seems to crop up for everything) and I think he could be very very good in the role but has he got brilliant blue eyes? You couldn't have the Gunslinger without 'em
