Mad Max 2 , think fury road has surpassed it . Very similar films tho . For it's time 1 of the best films.

MM2 is one of my favourites films I watched as a kid, but I think that the advances in technology gives Fury Road the win.  Got it on Blu and I never tire of it.  Still, I think that Mad Mel could have pulled it off if anyone was interested in casting him in such a big budget film...

I haven't seen the old Mad Max films in a while, but I was really blown away by Fury Road. It was so good, I almost watched Babe and Happy Feet afterwards...  ;D

Currently we are watching the last season of Broadchurch, not as good as the first season, but slightly better than season 2 in my mind.

Blimey, just watched 'Do The Right Thing' for the first time in a VERY long time... total bloody masterpiece.  Everything about it absolutely spot-on, probably the best film to address racism ever made.  Brilliant performances all round.

'Do The Right Thing' ...
SPOILERS

And do you know how many times upset people (white people) have said to me, "Why the hell did Mookie throw that garbage can into Sal's and destroy Sal's business?" That's what upsets them about the end of that film. Then when I scream at them, "Sal's pizzeria? That's what angers you? What about Radio Raheem's death?", they sheepishly smile and get the point of the film. Spike knew what he was doing with that finale. He knew lines would be drawn in the audience based on race.

Alright, I took my Mum out this afternoon for lunch and a trip to the cinema, so the last film I saw was 'Mamma Mia - Here We Go Again'...  :-\

Not really my cup of tea and not something I'd give a second viewing to but it was slickly made and very tongue-in-cheek, a few funny moments and even a cynical old sod like me thought the last scene was a bit moving.  But the audience reaction was great, the packed-out cinema loved it.  Reviews might have been a bit sniffy but heck, if a film makes loads of people happy, what's wrong with that, regardless of our personal opinions?  We could all do with a little joy in this current shithouse of a world...

Finally saw it for the first time.

Had many elements I so loved (musicians, director Milos Forman, history, epic in scope...), but the film did not live up to my decades long expectations. The lead - Pinto from ANIMAL HOUSE - just didn't get there for me. Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham did the job, but the role of Mozart was just...uninteresting. One of mankind's greatest talents being uninteresting? That will surely hurt a film dealing with his life.

Recently started on The Blacklist. Looks good so far. Single episode stories with as an yet un revealed longer storyline running through them. I do like James Spader so hopefully it keeps on being interesting.

Well I'm up to date with the blacklist , very decent show , does lose it way a little in the later seasons tho the last season was excellent. Will agree with Anna that having single episodes is good tho some of episodes run into 2 or 3 programmes later on which is also good . Me just finished the sopranos- very enjoyable tho the end was strange, been watching a bit of Sherlock- decent enough a bit too smart for its own good in parts but that's to be expected I suppose

Just watched the first episode of 'Castle Rock'... really liked it.  A new show based around the fictional town that featured in many classic Stephen King novels.  Even in the first episode, there are quite a few references back to characters and incidents from those books that many of us loved, so if you're a Stephen King fan I'd recommend it.  It's a bit of a slow-burner but it's shaping up to be a really good show.  The first three episodes are online, I'll deffo be checking out the next two asap... trailer here...

I've still not seen all The Sopranos  :-[

Just watched the third Castle Rock - it's brilliant. Fans of King will understand when I say it is SO King  ;D The atmosphere, settings  and characters seem bang on  :) Suitably spooky storyline. All in all excellent - hope it doesn't disappoint.
