Ho hum...another team USA game, another team USA win. It is actually getting boring how great we are.
We win. We always win. Is there no one on this planet to challenge us?

To Live And Die In LA.  One of the finest 80's crime movies.  Great cast, terrific script, and it still manages to be a proper nasty hardcore flick even when it has a soundtrack by bloody Wang Chung!

And I'll say that there are no 'good guys' in this film, just varying shades of 'bastard'...

Yes it's very good, very stylish...William Petersen is good in it and even more in "Manhunter"! The guy acted in two of the finest thrillers from the 80's and he wasn't a star at the time because both of these movies bombed at the box office!  :o

Yeah, agree... I'm one of the few people on the planet who likes Manhunter more than The Silence Of The Lambs... Brian Cox was genuinely cold and disturbing whereas Mr Hopkins (an actor I admire, btw) was camper than Christmas.

Still haven't gotten around to the new De Palma, I will update you on it...one day.   ;)

Finally got round to seeing all of virtues . Very much a slow burner with a dramatic ending.  Brilliantly written as always be Shane Meadows and very well acted covering some very uncomfortable subjects . Darker than dead man's shoes  ????? .

Glad you liked it, mate!  It was indeed, a dark and disturbing show... and when you've got Shane Meadows and Stephen Graham together, you can't go wrong can you?   ???

So you approve of distasteful stereotype portrayals of a homosexual man in a film.
Odd.

The Long Good Friday.  Best British gangster film ever.  Not terribly PC but all the better for it.  A true snapshot of what life was like decades ago, although it might upset 'snowflakes' these days...

The Patriot...still a good film. I'll never forget whilst at Stirling Uni, the Daily Record's review....Mel Gibson doing what he does best and killing the English. Hey, patriotic Racism. Why not?!?!
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

The Cameroon players and the Referee should be totally ashamed of themselves, the players for a total lack of discipline and the Ref.lost total control and failed to stamp her authority on the game.........shambles.And if England don't improve and play like that against Norway i feel that game will be the end of their World Cup..we shall see... >:(...

I saw POLAR with Mads Mikkelsen on Netflix and was disappointed.

Mikkelsen made the Movie watchable, some good scenes of which all of them weren't action scenes were there, but i think this Akerlund Guy just is a poor director.

I didn't like SPUN and i just took a short look at the live-video of Rammstein and couldn't stand it. Exactly how i don't want to see a live-concert being shot and cut.

I watched that game. Pretty awful. But you're not putting the blame where it belongs: instant replay, that VAR system.

We've had replay review here in our sports for a few decades now. NOTHING good has come of it. You always hear the cliché, "getting the call right," but in reality the replay just exacerbates a situation. By freeze framing a play one can find a centimeter of a girl's heel was offside. That's absurd. Sports are a natural flow, not something that should be stopped and meticulously scrutinized and analyzed. Do it on goals or touchdowns and home runs and that's it. First time VAR has been used in women's World Cup and everyone can see it is horrendous. Why, oh why, do people think replay is good for any sport?

It seems that i'm still in synchronicity and end of days mode..;-)
A friend of mine and myself meet regurlarly to show each other movies. So there is this element of surprise and then we talk about it.
The day before yesterday he brought: Take Shelter by Jeff Nichols. A very good movie, a drama about a husband and father who has strange dreams about a storm coming and feels kind of forced to take action about it and builds a storm-shelter in his backyard. But is he just dreaming badly?
