Stumbled upon Hyperdrive yesterday on netflix, was curious and then couldn't turn it of for 8 episodes. This is just WOW! If you like car stunts, racing, drifting, then you have to see it. But be prepared to have to watch more than 1 episode, they have cliffhangers. This is a course they build and drivers from around the world compete with their own cars and do absolutely unbelieveable stuff. And it has so much drama! There are some very sympathetic drivers and the whole show is just very well put together. Of course you have your commentators, but everything was so well paced, the right amount of interviews, the right summary well cut together to keep focused, and very well filmed. You begin to feel with the drivers (well i did), it's not only about winning and competing, it's about skill and nerves. I even was touched sometimes by the things that happened there and i found it pure fun to watch. Going to see the final now.

"Greg Davies, looking for Kes" on BBC4. Light hearted documentary about the classic film including re-visiting some of the locations with the original Billy Casper .

Good stuff.

I saw that and thought it was brilliant.
I still have my copy of Kes that I stole from school.

 :)

'Rambo - Last Blood'.  Rather disappointing, especially after the utterly mental fourth installment.  This ones rather slow, there's only any real action in the last 15 minutes and, to be honest, it all looks a bit cheap.  I wouldn't recommend it but here's the trailer...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km_L0v3C0ms

I have just watched ''The Butterfly Effect'' the directors cut, different ending to the cinema release, there are actually four different endings....I know the film gets a bit of flak, and yes there are holes in the plot but i really enjoyed it. I had seen it at the cinema when it first came out and did'nt like it at all back then....tastes change i suppose....

The first couple of episodes of that new BBC 'War Of The Worlds' show... sort of OK-ish, but I can't say better than that...

I like that film and have the DVD with different endings. If the film has had flak, doesn't bother me. I try not to over analyse films, at the end of the day they are made for entertainment. If you are entertained, job done !

Well i have now watched Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension).which as a title i prefer sums it up perfectly..it is a tense as hell.Wow what a film, actually watched it twice, the film plus afterwards the film with commentary by Alexandre Aja and Cecile De France which was very interesting.A brilliant film very bloody but still very atmospheric a definite cut above most slasher films it is so much more than that......i would highly recommend it...great stuff...

Claude Chabrol's masterpiece ''Le Boucher''..so atmospheric and beautifully shot, with an extremely weird and melodic soundtrack....watched Rick Stein cookery programme the night before and he visited a village where Chabrol used to visit to eat in a certain restaurant ....

'The Irishman', Scorsese's new one on Netflix.  Yes, it's worth a go, as most MS films are, but a bit Scorsese - by - numbers (very similar to Goodfellas and Casino) and bloody crikey it's so damn LONG!  Three and a half hours and there's nothing here that couldn't have been told in two to two and a half.  Certainly worth a watch but I'd make it a two-nighter if I were you.  trailer below.
