Regarding b sides, seems that's mostly a lost art, all around the music world.  I would have liked to have asked something about this in the Q&A.  I wonder if the number of songs on BDAW means that there are simply no songs left to be used as b sides.  [...]

There was a question regarding the issue actually, but I can't remember what was the number.

They dared to answer that there`s no "lost songs" right now and another unreleased tracks -album is not in the horizont... To me it`s kinda hard to believe there wouldn`t be left-overs, because there has ALWAYS been them  :). Their touring dates seem to be quite tight all the time and I wonder how they had time enough to concentrate in making of BDAW. But yeah, some interesting change is with the albums and studio working. They could not release all the material they have, or could they? It sounds a bit like "dangerous" having not any buffer songs in a storage. Just thinking...

Personally, I think like NMA are a bit like a certain Mr Springsteen... they have so many ideas and are so proficient that not all of them fit the general concept of whatever they're working on at the time... and so they go onto the backburner, only to re-emerge in the years to come...

Springsteen released a fantastic 4CD box-set some years back called TRACKS that had about 60 tracks ranging, in time, from the early 70's to the late 90's, many of which were better than the stuff that were on the 'official' albums...

I tell this to myself in the hope of getting a follow-up to LOST SONGS or BSAAT...

I'm sure they have bits and pieces started, but as was mentioned, I think Dean said there just wasn't that many songs lying around to do another Lost Songs album.  I'm a fan of Joseph Arthur and he's called prolific (meaning he puts out way too much material and has a tendency to release anything, and I mean ANYTHING).  I appreciate a decent editor who knows when something should remain n a box at the bottom of the pile.  Having said that, the band has put out consistent releases with pretty short time frames between albums, and I'm more than happy with that.
I also think age has a way of getting in the way of writing.  I'm glad Justin is at that the top of his game, but at some point, I think his lyrics might seem to pale in comparison to his earlier or current stuff, for that matter.  I also think he may call it quits before that time comes.  Who knows.

I think that in addition to b-sides where bands could be even a little more experimental with tracks that might not fit an album, I also miss the EP where you get a number of new tracks to listen too. I love CDs but miss the larger artwork of the 7" and 12". I do hope we get some new Joolz artwork for the single release.
I would have loved to have had new artwork for the March in September and Beautiful game releases  ;)

I still have a perfectly good turn table on a Kenwood tower.

I never use it. I don't like vinyl. I thought it was greeeat when CDs came in. I remember some of the crap music centres I had in the 1980s, crackling and jumping when the needle started to blunt. Remember those players where you could stack several singles, then pull over a retaining arm, and they would drop down and play one after the other ?, but it seemed to take ages, and often dropped two at a time.

I have stacks of LPs and 7 inches of stuff that I don't have on other formats, I just don't bother with them.

Long live CD !!, although I am sure that will become obsolete soon, and all music down loaded.

I remember being excited by this -- enjoy, -

I actually went to Richer Sounds 2 years ago and bought another stereo system with an Ipod docking station and a turntable with a USB facility with the intention of putting all my vinyl into a digital format for my Ipod.

Never got round to it and still play vinyl from time to time, I bought both formats of BDAW but have only played the vinyl one a couple of times.

Personally I prefer vinyl and but wonder why some albums seem shorter when I listen then realise I have to get up to turn 'em over.

CD's and even more so Ipods have made us lazier :) :)
Is is a crime to believe in something different?

I meant what I said at the time that I said it

I have an old turntable and a new one with mp3,
I use both - the old one to listen to my old vinyl - and the new one to convert old vinyl to mp3, if I can`t find that release on cd
And the artwork and booklet of a vinyl is sometimes worth buying both (cd and lp)

And I`m waiting for an brand new live gig 2014 on vinyl/cd/download of RSC some weeks later!!!!
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Everything should be released on vinyl as well as other formats. Vinyl, played on an high quality turntable and system will out perform CD every time.

For me, in the main, CD has distracted from the listening pleasure in many ways, because of the sheer convenience of everything being on 'one side', and the thing automatically stopping if forgotten about.....We hear the music more than listen to it, as we can do many other things at the same time.....

With vinyl, we have to engage with the music, cant get distracted by other things, wander off....we have to turn it over, take it off at the end, take care of the physical item to keep it pristeen.... We have wonderful sleeves, lyric sheets, posters, photos and all manner of other things packaged with an LP, to enjoy along with the music......

Yep, ipods/phones/mp3 players alond with CD's are brilliant bits of tec, but for me, vinyl will always be king....and it does disappoint me when wonderful music is denied a vinyl release....

Just my thoughts....  :) :) :)
