A Christmas Cracker by Trisha Ashley.
It was one of the gifts in my hamper from school.
Not the usual stuff I read ( no drugs/murders/nasty business) but I appreciate the thought and will read it.
It's ok so far, few chapters in.

 :)

I just finished "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children". The story is gripping and enjoyable, but the original vintage photos are the real highlight of the book. I would really like to know, who took such pictures...  ???

Currently I am reading the Southern Reach trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer.

Intriguing as his books often are, with echoes of a number of other books I have read.

Before this I re-read "Always Coming Home" by Ursula Le Guin - I haven't read this for over 25 years, but it has always resonated with me. A story but set as "future archaeology" and cultural studies.

Is is a crime to believe in something different?

Miss Rhythm    Ruth Brown autobiography. Great memoir by one of the early rhythm and blues/rock n roll stars of the 1950's. I'm only half way through but I like her style. Sassy as she was in John Waters' original "hairspray" film.
I'm geared towards the averagae rather than the exceptional.

Just getting into Mr Springsteen's autobiography, 'Born To Run' (heck, what the hell else could he call it?) and it's a cracking read, beautifully written and the mans quite happy to admit his personal shortcomings over the years.  Very honest, often funny, well worth a punt if you have any affinity towards 'The Boss' and possibly if you don't... damn good read.

Im not  reading anything in long time.I have a goddamn smartphone and I am like addicted to facebook and all internet news etc.I'm asking people what they read and tell me what's in the books. My wife's father is 68 and he is spending his all day at book stores and always bringing books to us for read but I am just starring at them.My mother and sister are both writers. One writes script and stories for tv and mum writes politics criticism for a local paper  but I dont even look at what they wrote.Very bad situation.I only search a lot of classical history on web.But sadly it is not like reading a real book. :(
