Henry Miller ''Tropic of Cancer''first published in 1934,not difficult to see why it was banned in so many countries including Britain and USA until the mid 1960's...maybe not shocking by today's standards. It must have appeared extremely shocking back then.....an interesting read.

Miller is easily one of my top 5 authors! ''Tropic of Capricorn'' is also brilliant, my favourite though is ''Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch'' :)

I love to read !
Lockdown and now school holidays is a perfect time for me. I'd usually be out and about or doing work on the house but because I'm still trying to keep my distance I'm sitting in my garden enjoying books almost all day.

 :)

Started reading Kazuo Ishiguro's ''The Unconsoled'', now half way through. Damn, this book makes me feel so frustrated! There's this main character who basically doesn't know much about what's going on, he just goes on with everything, messing up his apparently quite important schedule... I'm waiting for a reeeaaalllly satisfying ending: if it's not gonna happen, I. Will. Be. Furious.
 ;D

Kafka's lovely, has kind of specific, dark, candle-lit atmosphere...
You're still waiting for Tropic of Capricorn? :)

When i went to order ''Metamorphosis'' i came across''The Essential Kafka'' book which was cheaper than just the single novella,so i shall have a look at some of the other stories......and then i shall start ''Tropic Of Capricorn''........loved ''Metamorphosis'',a very sad story.I have heard of ''The Trial''and ''The Castle'' so shall start with those.

Read the newest book from Blake Crouch, ''Recursion''. Mind-bending page-turner...
Also Andrew Miller's ''Optimists'' which was a lovely read - I remember reading and liking it ten years ago, remembered nothing else :)
My friend came to visit (a brave move on covid times..) and brought me Paul Auster's ''Oracle Night'' in Finnish so now after long time reading in my native language, weird but positive feeling  :)
Aaaand I ordered Joolz's book ''Corazon'', I've actually never read anything from her so looking forward :)
