I do like windows phones but the apps are not the best. Shame.

On a side piss me off note. Its taken 4 months for the post brexit crash, after the initial one and we're all doomed again. Fecking economists and traders.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

The latest whole. " killer clown craze" ffs get a grip. Got to be the most stupid thing ever

I swear to God, this happened today... walking home, passed some kid about 12 years old standing with a couple of his mates, said to me 'alright?'.

Nice kid, seemingly.  I replied with a cheerful 'alright, lad?', only to be responded with '...you fuckin' c**t'...  :o

I was genuinely shocked, turned around and was about to say 'OY!' when some other little twatmonkey, about the same age, wearing a bloody clown mask, ran up, raised his mask and spat right in my face, saying 'what the f**k are you gonna do about it, C**t'

Honestly, that happened.  His spit was dripping down my face and they were all shouting abuse and laughing before running away.  It was all I could do not to grab the little bastard and give him a damn good smack with a closed fist.  Shaking with rage, I just walked off to their sound of their laughter.  Humiliated and so angry because, if I had done anything, I'd have been in prison, no messing, someone to 'hurts those poor innocent children'.  Probably on the nonce wing.

I grew up in the 70's.  Back then, if a kid did something like that, they'd have gotten a damn good smack.  If they complained to their parents, they'd probably have gotten another smack from their Mum.  And if it was reported to the coppers, the coppers would have laughed.  These days... they're just little snowflakes, aren't they?  And anyone who doesn't agree is a weirdo, right, especially people like me, a 40's man who didn't raise any snowflakes of his own.

If youre a parent, you should raise your children with the concept of 'respect for others'.  The parents of these little fuckwits obviously didn't.

I am truly despairing of this shit world nowadays.

Fcking hell, that's fcking disgusting, you done well not to knock fck out of them. Think I would have phoned the police even if I'm not a big fan of them. They probably wouldn't have done much but I'm sure they would have taking it seriously. Born Feral  !

Little rats. As you said the frustrating thing is knowing you cannot do anything. I have a son of 11 and I see his mates. All seemingly good kids with parents that try their best to keep their kids stimulated.  Doesnt help you after the day you have had but these are a small minority. Keep your spirits up

Cheers guys, 'Born Feral' should have sprung to mind.

The thing is, this isn't a bad neighbourhood!  I rent a flat in an area of big houses that are about £200,000.  It is, admittedly, quite near to my towns worst area but still...

Let's just hope that little arseholes run into someone who isn't as 'restrained' as me and might give them the smacking that they truly deserve...

Ray, truly shocked and appalled by what happened to you. It's played on my mind all day since reading it this morning.

I dearly hope that all the little buggerfucktwats involved get a massive dose of karma - like a ******* great truck running them over.

Like you my parents would have been horrified and would have dragged me to the coppers themselves if they thought I'd done something like that. Alas, and this may be a sweeping statement the parents probably don't even know or care what their kids are doing as long as they aren't bothered by them.  It seems a lot of parents stick an iPad in the kids face while it's still in nappies and don't even attempt to take any notice of the kid let alone parent it. I have a number of friends that are teachers of different age groups ranging from reception to GSCE, they all say the same that so many of the parents don't care as long as the kid isn't bothering them. I often ask myself why do people have kids if they're plainly not interested in them? It's not like contraception is hard to come by is it?

Hard as it must of been I think you did the right thing. You stand up for yourself and you'll either get a gang of them jump you and you'll get the shit kicked out of you or worse.  If you clump one of them you'll get arrested and have all the consequences of that.  Let's face it no-one wants the police involved in their lives if they can help it. Like you i'm a bloke in his 40s with no kids seems like we're onto a complete loser at times in the society of today.
And I wish and I wish we could start over again Yes I wish and I wish we could win back Her love once again

Truly not good. Think you did very well not to respond physically. Most of these kinds of things as you say are best dealt with by walking away. If you grab one of them or rant back you are quite likely to be a future repeat target for such gits. As a parent, I blame the parents. Not totally, some kids / people are beyond help, but all kids should be taught how to behave with other people and the benefits of mutual respect.

Cheers.  Calmed down now.  Really got to me yesterday, though.  You're right, smacking the little bastard would have been the wrong thing to do, or rather the wrong thing to do in the eyes of the law.  If it gets out that you hit a child, then word spreads that you 'abused' a child and before you know it, it's Chinese whispers and you're the neighbourhood paedo.

I'm sure these little sods will soon run into someone who is not as 'nice' as me and get the smack that might teach them a lesson...   :)

Bloody hell MR you did very well to restrain yourself - I would have smacked the little feckers and bugger the consequences. As you say only a few decades ago that would have been expected of someone or at the very least one given by the old bill.

As a parent I can assure you that had my little cherub ever have done such a thing he would have felt the back of my hand and the wrath of my vicious tongue, not to mention being marched round to the offended parties house to offer a grovelling apology.

Too much slack is given to little darlings and part of growing up is learning what is acceptable and what is not: together with the consequences of going beyond accepted norms.

I'm not advocating abuse nor am I suggesting physical discipline as a matter of course but on very rare occasions ......

Wow, MR - some children these days... :o

I know they aren't all like that, Anna speaking up for all the responsile parents that I know are out there - but you hear stories like that so much these days. We live opposite a day-care centre and the things you see/hear from the children AND parents are just...WOAH.

But I agree you handled the situation really well, given the way things are today. As you have all pointed out already, my parents would have applauded the person smacking me had I done anything like that back them - followed by more consequences - but these days... ???
