That does happen sometimes when you 'quote', your response occasionally gets swallowed up in the main body of the re=posted quote...

Now Steph... I'm slightly worried about your comment about not taking the drugs your Doctor recommended.  I'm hoping that something is lost in translation?  I've been wondering about whether to post the following for the last ten minutes because of your anxiety about the whole situation and whether it might make it worse.  I don't like to upset people. But thinking you can just ignore these symptoms... not a good idea.  So here goes with a story I've told before (and I'm certain a regular poster named 'lpotus' will agree with me)...

I had similar symptoms, did the whole heart monitor thing, nothing terribly worrying showed up but was advised to go on meds which I didn't bother with.  Any symptoms I had were mild and not worrying.  Then, at 45, I had a heart attack.  Not a huge one and I seem to have made a full recovery but I was off work for three months and am now on regular meds, for life.  Now, I AM NOT AN EXPERT!  I am not saying this will happen to you, hopefully I'm completely wrong!  But... why take a chance if all it takes is a few pills that might alleviate the problem?  After all, these doctors might know a few things, eh?   ;)

Take this advice or not, it's your life.  Again, I hope I'm wrong.  But just take this bit of advice... we've all seen these shows on TV when people collapse with huge chest pain or whatever, like that's the norm.  Heart attacks can take many forms... I had mild chest burning (I've had worse heartburn after eating curry!) and mild breathlessness and a bit of a cold sweat.  If I hadn't worked for the NHS previously and known that you never ignore chest pain, no matter how mild, I'd probably have gone to bed and tried to ignore it.  If I had... well.   :-\  I also met people afterwards who had no pain at all during their incident!  All I'm saying is that if something seems unusual and different to your usual symptoms (perhaps nausea, heaviness in the chest, sudden upper back-ache that won't go away, heck, research the various symptoms!) then please seek medical advice!  Might be nothing but, again, why take a chance?

I truly hope you don't think I'm trying to frighten you with my post.  I'm just someone who wants to alert you or anyone reading this as to how the conventional idea of such a health incident is so different to the reality. Please, my fellow NMA friend, stay healthy and keep an eye on your symptoms.  Best wishes! x

Hi Master Ray thx for the msg and advice but you know the cardiologist i saw prescribed me drugs ONLY if the extrasystoles are annoying me too much that's all.

For her, what I have is not alarming and my heart is sane.

I dont smoke, I dont drink, I walk each day, i m vegetarian and I I do not take any medical treatment.

I already have extrasystoles  4 or 5 years ago. It comes when I'm nervous I noticed. But I didnt feel them like it was in January/february. I feel them less since a few weeks.

My father had and still have cardiac problems but his problem was due to cigarettes, fatty meal, too much sugar, no exercices at all and stress from his work

I went to see the cardiologist because 'I felt' too much extrasystoles and it looks like anxiety attack especially when it cames at night. And its surely some anxiety because extrasystoles gives that. And extrasystoles can be a symptom of anxiety. A vicious circle...

But i got no pain in the chest etc. I understand what you wrote, heart attack can be diffferent to each of us. Some feel pains others none. I know that , but I listen to my body maybe too much but when I feel something weird I go and see the doctor that's what I did ;)

But the drugs the cardiologist prescribed me is just if extrasystoles annoy me too much.
It's ok for me now, I dont need to take them.
I dont think I'll take them anyway, I'll take hawthorn which is good for what I have (cardiologist was also ok with that).
I dont like drugs because the only times I took some I always had the side effects.

You know my father had some cardiac troubles because of tobacco etc but all the drugs he took and still take give him other healthy problems. Bradycardia for exemple or stomach troubles or even thyroid that became bigger... I could write a very long list

the cardiologist repeated me what i have is not alarming because extrasystoles come from the left atrial. If they come from ventricles it would be more annoying and serious but it's not the case. ;)

I'm a anxious person so I try to not focus on what I have because just to think about that, i feel my heart.
I noticed when I dont think too much i'm ok. (but dont worry I listen to what my body can say... maybe too much which can cause anxiety. vicious circle again)

thx again for your msg Master Ray
best wishes

When thinking there are actually few of us at 40's here who've had some health issues or something. Counting 4 of them isn't very difficult.

I've been shocked to find out how much there are several health things that'll appear when crossing a line of that age. I've heard jokes about it but it seems like it's really true. With me it's simply because of a lack of excercises. Well, I often go to a doctor quite easily if I have assumptions about something. Now, recently I've thought maybe I should check out do I have a possibility I'd get a Parkinson's disease. My uncle had it in early 80's.  :-\

Im afraid they're right when they say everything starts after 40.So it might be good to have checks sometimes Rusco.I'm 40 and 2 years ago wife noticed something like a very small ball under my arm near my lymphs. So they made me a biopsy and took that goddamn thing.Result was very surprising. It's a very rare disease called'Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis'.Very rare seen in people at my age but commonly among the children and babies. It was and is nothing to me psychically. No aches,no symptoms nothing.Perhaps if she wouldn't have recognize it that day by accident,I would never know about it maybe till the end of my life.Anyway they keep MR and BT scanning of me once in a year and I'm ok now.But as you say and some Doctors say illnesses could be genetical and have some check ups is good to know about your body.

Diabetes is the one that worries me, history of it in the family.  My Mum's just been diagnosed as being on the cusp of being diabetic and my Grandma suffered badly from it (went blind).  I have a full set of bloodwork done once a year since the heart attack and so far I'm fine, but if you're over 40 it might be worth making it an annual event, some pretty bad things can appear without warning...  :o

Agreed with both of you.

What comes to diabetes, I've heard there's some kind of a connection with it and smoking. I know one guy who has a diagnosed diabetes and if he'll continue smoking he's in danger of loosing eyesight.

Hope all is ok with you Stephanie - I'd echo Master Ray and just keep a close eye on everything  :-*

Ruscoe - I think I'm right in saying that whilst smoking doesn't cause Diabetes it does massively increase the risk of complications and serious illness.

OK, this is pissing me off right now... the immense outpouring of support for 'Ant' out of 'Ant And Dec' (for non-UK folks, a light entertainment duo)... this dickhead got drunk and smashed his car into the front of another car (with a kiddie in the back) and subsequently got taken off the air.  Go online and all your can see is people saying 'oh, you've got a drink problem, its not your fault, get well soon, we love you...'   >:(

FOOK OFF!  If some immigrant from Syria or Poland had done that some thing, those same numbskulls would be demanding the drivers head on a stick.  Now, I've known people with drink / drug problems and I do appreciate the problems of addiction.  But those people weren't worth tens of millions of £££'s.  This utter twot could afford a personal driver or a taxi but chose not to and subsequently could have killed someone.  In the early 90's, I lost a friend to a drunk driver.  So you can appreciate why I have no sympathy for this over-privileged tosser...

Hope 'Ant' gets some serious prison time in a proper hard nick. Rant over.
