Ive hear something similar said. However, we just had a month long lockdown, with schools open. Alk the figures appear to be dropping. Im in a Tier 3 area so pretty much anything fun stays closed. Im curious to see whether the numbers keep falling....which shifts it off schools imho.

Maybe it's working because I just realized that school kids have something that the rest of us don't: teachers. Teachers, following their every move and reminding how to behave, like "Oi, Tarsier! Stop eating sand!"
Would be useful thing to have. Just try to go shopping - no matter if you try your best to keep distance, for sure there are few people breathing to your neck or cutting you in queue because there's space in front...  >:(

America....what the actual??? How has the biggest global power fallen back into tribalism and conspiracy?
Shameful. Always thought Trump was comedy gold, but if that is his support and how he has divided the country, good riddance. Reminiscent of a tinpot democracy/dictatorship.

Yup, we're not much better in the UK, but those scenes...

 :-\

Over here, we're equally pissed off with our politicians but we'd prefer to just have a nice cup of tea and shake our heads (with possibly a stern look at the TV and the occasional 'tut')...   ;)

 Fear of change & the usual Racism plus  new Alternative Media that give false info to people that want to the truth to be what they believe that is what happened in America. And let me say that one British person does have a hand in this Rupert Murdoch & Fox News ( But really Fox Entertainment) that espouses a Right wing Narrative with their commentators feeding some people BS . 8)

From what i gather this is most likely a maintenance issue as this was an older 737 not the new 737 MAX which is the model Boeing had problems with....Indonesia has had a bad air safety record for many years and is in fact the worst in Asia.Still very sad news.

I've been reading some news from last weekend. First of all, I found out that there are enough Trump supporters here to organize a demonstration, well, of course against Covid restrictions at the same time. Judging from photos, not that many people attended but that's enough anyway, wth...

Tarsier, from my place in the world, eastern europe has always had a vocal far right. That said The Czech Republic is a wonderful country and Im amazed that some there see any link to Trump. The Star of David is truly shocking. That should be highlighted the world over tbh..although the hypocrisy of right wing ideology and the Star of David is breath takingly stupid.
