I like to think I'm very open minded with music (and else) but when I seriously think about it there's really a lot of it I dislike, although it doesn't always relate to the style but just to individual bands.
First of all I listen to so much different stuff, from John Coltrane to Rage Against The Machine, from John Dowland to Kraftwerk... I'm a musician myself, so it does make sense to stay alert and not ignore a good piece of music, whatever direction it comes from.
But there's certainly styles of music I can relate to more, and some I cannot comunicate at all.
I don't really like American hard rock music, bands like Aerosmith, Guns 'n Roses, Van Halen, Rush and all those 80's hair metal dudes. I don't like Whitesnake, Scorpions etc.
On the other hand I have plenty of respect and love for a bit older blues rock bands like The Taste, Free, Humble Pie...
Most of the stuff I go for is acoustic, like Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Cohen, Tim Buckley, but I also love a good distorted guitar sometimes, like all those Crazy Horse records by Neil Young or the Pixies, or Dead Kennedy's.
When it comes to jazz there's a lot of stuff I love there, but there's also one thing I dislike very much and it's called "jazz snobism", it appears in many forms and shapes and is very easily recognizable.
I see a lot of people mentioned Coldplay here as one of the bands very much disliked. I actualy loved the first album, especially the song called "Spies", but I do agree that in the meantime they've been producing mostly rubish.
