Herzeleid is a cracking site for  translating Rammstein's songs. Mutter was the defining album for them I think. Not that keen on the stuff before it although Du Hast is a great song.

Anyway love the toxicity lp and hypnotise ok a few of there songs are a bit stupid but at least they make you smile Think Serj Tankian is a excellent front man wish they would do a proper uk tour again soon
I also like a few songs the disturbed do as well, with their cover of tears for fears shout being one of the best cover versions I've heard

Now I know that not all of these are strictly classed as metal, but what is metal really?  Heavy, intense, aggressive...  I don't know, but I love the above bands and plenty more like them.

BTW, I saw Lotus mentioned Nightwish there. They are Finnish and one of the bands known to get a wide popularity here and everywhere. There have always been quite a lot of such bands playing in a similar style here. I'd see it so that the "heroic" power metal genre had a lot of success here in northern Europe in 80's and 90's. It was actually due to Yngvie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Manowar, Pantera, Dream Theater and such (role game background) music that created tens of bands that shared the style together. Most of the Finnish metal bands seem to get the biggest audiences in Germany and Greece nowadays .

Went to see Wasp a few years ago with my girlfriend ( her choice) I didn't know any of their songs before hand but had borrowed a couple of cds I mistakenly thought they were a kinda hair metal band how wrong was i lol Yes got to admit they were really  good though extremely loud

Shit, sir, you think you know loud?  I've seen the magnificent MOTORHEAD a couple of times... ******* hell, it's like standing in front of a jet engine!!!  Been to hundreds of gigs but I've never heard anything like that...
