How do you know you're getting old...

I can't grow hair and beard related to work issues.After a long time,in my vacation I grew beard and saw that half of my beard turned white.It was strange to see myself like that.

Been there, sir.  I'm usually clean shaven but when I don't shave for a few days, my beard is now almost completely white... odd, seeing as the hair on my head only has some grey around the sides.  Chest hair is now also snowy-white.

Oddly, my hair in, ahem, more intimate areas seems to be clinging to some semblance of youth, but I can't exactly display that in public in an effort to look younger...

wel to me, grey hair always was something i found cool and wouldn't mind if my hair turns grey. i think grey makes you more wise than old.

Well I'm grey and certainly not wise.Just got home from doing a car boot.While packing the car'I put 3 fishing rods on the roof,then forgot all about them and drove off.Realised 20 miles down the road.Definately losing it .Still, someone got lucky

Welcome to the club. You have done well Pol to have lasted this long.I am told the eye balls start to shrink when people reach their early 40's.
What makes me feel old is being a  user of Ibuleve  for arthritic joints. Its not the years it the miles

Contact lenses?  Asda do them pretty cheap and they work just as well as the more expensive options.

Although I do use contact lenses and these days need back-up glasses to read small-print (although my reading glasses are just the ones that cost a couple of quid in your local pound shop...)

I guess, in Nottingham, Ill be looking for the Scottish fella who is partly shaven-headed / heavily tattooed bloke and partly Adrian Mole...

I don't fancy contacts , see how I get on with the glasses, just spent 150 quid on them so gotta give a fair try  . I'll look more like a white morpheus lol. Yes they have  level 2 tints , was tempted to go level 3 daredevil style lol . Really hard to pick a pair , went for the smallest lenses oval ish shape. Thought fck it if I'm wearing them I'm getting the pair I like most .

Contacts dont adjust to small print, so my optician told me. Great for distance but as you get older, as Shush suggested, the muscles struggle. Hence I wear bi-focals most of the time. I think im getting to the stage where Im gonna have to stop wearing contacts as I really struggle with a pc when Im wearing them. I could have my eyes lasered but whats the point. Im nearly 50.
