[...] Don't be mistaken - I've never heard a Sigur Rós song on popular german radio. It's filled with lots of rubbish from what is called "the charts" (bah).
The charts are playing everywhere. But besides that, there are some great pearls among shitty stations. I mean some special programs which are dedicated to some certain interesting theme. I for example am listening every Monday and Tuesday evening couple of radio programs that play only blues and country stuff, old and new. Before that I thought I'd known what blues is in general, but was amazed by the new ways people play it. There are sort of stomping sound heavy stuff and even some digital sampled stuff that fit very well to the scene. Imagine that ehh "Arizonaaa...coyote sound" with groovy melancholic stuff that reminds Tricky or Massive Attack or something.

Could be instrumental movie soundtrack.
On the other hand I like a lot some movie soundtracks: Bill Laswell's soundtrack to the film
Broken Vessels, Vangelis soundtrack to
Bladerunner, or 1
3th Warrior soundtrack and of course
Pulp Fiction soundtrack which contains some intrumentals too.
