Pol, I don't think we'll know until after the next election what might happen in terms of devolution powers and who gets to vote on what, regardless of whoever says whatever now. As soon as it was a No vote, focus moved on to May next year. Unfortunately any chance of change went out the window with the No vote.
As is probably evident by now, I have grown ever more disillusioned, disenfranchised and cynical about every part of our national political process (I'm excluding local as that's different and there might still be hope there). To the point where I don't vote and don't know if I'm still on the electoral roll. The charade is so detached from the 99% of us now it's farcical. It was finally all over for me when they first used the phrase “Career Politician” - the antithesis of everything an MP should be. So as far as party politics, the “corridors of power”, elections, prime ministers and all that is concerned I've turned my back, accepted that I will just have to take whatever shit they throw at us next and get with it as best I can.
But I'm angrier and far more political than I've ever been. Climate Change, Prejudice, Sustainability, Control by Commerce, Foreign Policy, Bigotry, Barbarity and Depravity – shit, the list the goes on and on on. And I'm more frustrated than I've ever been too. All of this stuff keeps on going – things that made me angry 25 years ago still exist to make my son angry in turn and many have got worse. Some of them we still deny are even happening. So yes, I'm very political. But I'm issue driven rather than taking a side – if you can actually bear to dig through all the well rotted manure you find knowledgeable thought, experience and words worth reading from all parts of the political spectrum. But that's down to individuals not the party colours they wear.
Yeah, in regard to where I might express my political rights that's where I stand. In Limbo. Caused by the only word worth taking from all of that – Disenfranchised.
