That is an amazing setlist, absolutely gutted I have not been able to attend any of these Christmas shows this year. :( Wonder if they will tour this setlist next year at some other venues. Here's hoping.
We always burned brightest when no one was watching.

A fantastic set list and a brilliant gig.  Spent the whole show watching Ceri play - I knew he was good, but seeing him last night blew me away.  Our daughter go a picture of herself with him afterwards, too.

Hats off to the band who after 34 years can still turn out a show to make you stop and stare at just how good, what is going on in front of you is, was amazing. Songs that we have heard many, many times in the past, being presented in new ways, but even just hearing them again is a treat. Add to that the fact that they played songs that in 25 years (I know I am just a beginner) I have not seen before, was a total treat and for a band who are always looking forward to have a nod to the past, but mixed in with the new and the refreshed was a true highlight of the gig going year. The version of Vagabonds will live long in the memory.

Now, just how much is a flight from Birmingham to Cologne....?

Well, Adrian, I'm sure that the flight itself wouldn't be the problem but the logistics involved, i.e. abandoning the family for another weekend.

Having said that, I'm very much loolking forward to doing this to my family next weekend. And as you - and some others on the board - know I wouldn't do that for any other band.

I had a great night again. Was to good to see a spontaneous rendition of Slade that amused Marshall. Only sour note for me was someone pissing Justin off at the start of the second set....and seeing it from the steps at the back of the hall. Bad timing of the beer run 😊

Another superb Rock City performance by the band  :)

The six drummers at the same time was captivating to watch and sounded brilliant.

Well worth all the pit bruises I have all over me today, and the now red boot print on my shoulder  :D

Epic gig that one - 31 songs! No wonder it hurts so much today  :) Mind you it's the first gig in a while that I haven't ended up on my ass on the floor.

Brilliant stuff from the guys and all the other guests on stage, those strings sounded really cool. as for Vagabonds ..... just awesome. Angry Planet does kick ass doesn't it. Didn't expect vengeance to get an airing.

You lot were right - Rock City is a really good venue (except for the Cloakroom queues) really glad I made the effort and went, sorry Nottingham - I'll Be Back  ;D

A really big thank you to all of the lovely people I met or bashed into or danced and sang with last night. Top night that. And a special thanks to Shush & Ange for being so welcoming

Literally my pleasure Anna. To be honest, when we met, I already felt like I knew you as we have been chatting on here for so long. Was pleased you and Pol as new comers to the City looked after each other.

Truly wonderful day, the best possible music enjoyed with some really nice people. Can't wait to do it again hopefully not too far away in the future.

Just got home from Nottingham and still buzzing.  What. A. Night.  Two utterly terrific sets.  the first was excellent, the second way BEYOND excellent.  I was quite near the back, would have gotten further in but it was impossible thanks to such a crammed-in, sweaty and utterly fervent crowd... fine, music this powerful can reach even us idiots at the back...

The augmentation of the band worked brilliantly.  A wash of sound that made even the versions we love and have heard a million times sound fresh and new.  There HAS to be a DVD or CD of these shows!

I'm still so buzzed and happy about these gigs that I'm not going to into a rant about the LOUD talking from certain audience-members during the quieter tracks...   ::)  All I can say is that Justins STFU moment was greeted with such a loud shout from myself...  ;)

And WHAT an aftershow!  I can't remember the last time I got back to bed (my hotel, in this case) at 2AM, drunk as a skunk...  :D

Some personal messages.  Shush, and your good lady were, as ever, so generous and friendly... such great company.  You pair make me want to come to Nottingham more often. Shush, did you ever find your e-cig? It certainly wasn't in my trousers ( ::)  ;D) Anna, so great to meet you finally (best hug I've had in ages!) and it's such a shame we didn't have a proper chat (the aftershow was a bit too loud for a chat... oh well, next time, eh? We'll still keep going here!)  Pol, likewise... me and my mate tried to find you lot at The Tap, but didn't know the place all that well, didn't know you were tucked away in some kind of sideroom... hope we, one day, talk when we don't have to SHOUT!

Also, Shush introduced me to certain other Forum folks but, with shame, I was so drunk at that point that I don't quite remember who...  :-\  Apologies for not mentioning you and please remind me!

A great night like last night keeps me going in the face of anything not-so-great.  loved it.  Until next time, eh?
