George Michael and Morrissey discussing Joy Division´s Ideal for Living and Closer amongst other things. JD part starts around 13:30 but the whole show is quite entertaining.   Agree with George on the 2nd side of Closer but who can forget Heartand Soul as the opener.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1ZMi3cPzUg

Yet another one gone far too young this year. At least she helped give the last Star Wars offering, the Force Awakens Some credibility. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher. A grate character.

Older is a great album, fantastic production, play it often.Sad news and he was my age!

Used to seriously hate Wham back in the 80's. Lets face it, its that kind of music that made many of us here seek out alternative bands like NMA back then to escape such chart fodder. I do have to agree with Jez, his later music was of fine quality. I do not have a copy of Older, but I liked what I heard off it in the later 90's. At the end of the day, a singer who wrote and performed his own music the way he wanted to - is a great loss to UK music. R.I.P.

Aw hell, Carrie Fisher.  I only found out when I got to the pub tonight.  There were a few middle-aged men feeling somewhat melancholy around a pub table.

RIP Miguel Ferrer, great actor from so many cult TV shows and films.  Here's two of my favourites, firstly from Twin Peaks...

RIP Tom Edwards (Tommo), Fields Of The Nephilim.
TOM EDWARDS, GUITARIST AND MUSICAL DIRECTOR FOR ADAM ANT, PASSES AWAY
(CHERRY HILL, NJ) January 26, 2017 … Tom Edwards, 41, guitarist and MD for Adam Ant, passed away yesterday from suspected heart failure at Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Tom was on tour with the band as part of the North American Kings of the Wild Frontier tour that began two nights ago in Washington DC. He was found unresponsive then rushed to the hospital where he passed away yesterday in the late afternoon.
An autopsy is pending. No further details are known at this time.
Tom was an esteemed guitarist throughout his career and had played with Roddy Frame, Fields of the Nephilim, Rebelles, Edwyn Collins, Andrea Corrs, Arno Castens and Spiderbites.
“On behalf of Adam and his band, we thank all of you for your best wishes and support during this most difficult time, Tom shared his musical gifts with the world and his spirit will live on forever.”
In order to pay respects to their honoured bandmate, Adam and his band have postponed their upcoming concerts at The Keswick Theatre in Philadelphia (January 26) and Webster Hall in New York City (January 27), but will resume the tour at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto (January 29).

Damn I was just watching the video of them not even knowing that he was on tour here in the States with Adam Ant. :( RIP Tommo  (Forever Remain). 8)

Ditto again.  Also seems like a legendary bloke. I've been trying (and failing) to find a magazine article I read a few years ago where the writer saw Mr Hurt in a pub, approached him and was told(I remember the response quite clearly) 'Ah!  An autograph hunter, how f******g delightful, I thought you were a bloody journalist!  Now, kindly refill my glass and I'll tell you some stories funny enough to blow the flies off a shithouse...' and proceeded to do exactly that, get rat-arsed with a complete stranger just for the fun of it...even if that stories exaggerated, I think it indicates what a great bloke he was.  RIP, sir.

Saw this thru My Bass Player Facebook page.

Today we say goodbye to bass great John Wetton (Asia (band), King Crimson, Uriah Heep, Brian Eno), who passed away this morning after a long bout with cancer. He was a phenomenal musical and a wonderful person. (June 12, 1949 – January 31, 2017)

2017 is starting just as bad as 2016 :( 8)

As a kid, I loved the original Battlestar Galactica and, as an adult, I REALLY loved the reboot, so was sad to heard about Richard Hatch (Apollo in the 70's show, Tom Zarek in the reboot) dying today...  :-[
