I can only agree with others on here that giving up smoking is a great thing. I had been a smoker for the best part of 30 years until I stopped about four years ago. I feel so much healthier for it, and not to say I am better off financially as well.
It's not easy giving up. I made several attempts until I finally cracked it. I found the nicotine gums really helped me to quit, and I do partake in an e-cig when I have a drink...I always found when having a pint was when I was most tempted to light up, but the e-cig helped solved that challenge as well.
Funnily enough, another thing I gave up around the same time was driving. After talking it over with my better half, we decided to sell the car and either go on foot or use public transport. Again, I feel much healthier for it, and better off too.
As for 2016, we want to do a lot more walking...and not just walking to the shops or walking to work...but getting back up into them thar hills. We only got one proper walk in last year, along the Northumbrian coast. Although it was lovely, only doing one proper walk in a year is totally unacceptable. So we fully intend to get the ol' walking boots back on again this year!
All the best,
Johnny
