wow we are not worthy! glad you're  well sir and thank-you for your reply. cant play favourites but you were the bass player when i fell in love with this band so  eternal thanks and respect.

btw -saw the damned again a couple of years ago -no rat, that arsehole sensible back and playing grimly fiendish! no competition.

Pants weren't a ska band, we were, and indeed still are on occasion, a pub rock band, doing rock/metal versions of twee pop songs for laughs. I did play with a 9-piece ska band, a 7-piece country and western band, a classical quartet, a punk band and a psychedelic band, among others. I like to do odd projects from time to time, and odd bits of session work here and there.

my apologies, my fading memory conflated reading about Pants with reading about the ska band.
thanks for posting

Seems that ex guitarre player Ricky Warwick has a new soloalbum out:

Ricky Warwick: When Patsy Cline Was Crazy & Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues/Hearts On Trees (Doppelalbum)

Gee, there's been lots of interesting stuff. So great to hear what Moose is up to nowadays.

Ricky Warwick's part in the history of NMA has always been a bit shady to me. Didn't know there's been that strong connection with the Almighty and NMA.

Well he played on-stage guitar for a few tours before the "extra" guitarist was officially part of the band - so it seems a reasonable connection.

I just found this on youtube: a discussion panel about transition from dinosaur/glam rock music to punk. At about 3:29 The Damned play "Smash It Up" with Moose on bass. https://youtu.be/HDtixwbCdJ4

In January 2013 we went to our local folk club down at Grayshott Village Hall here on the Surrey/Hants border to listen to the Churchfitters and were delighted to see Nelson playing drums with them. In the interval I had a quick chat with him. He was pleased to talk NMA. I was impressed that he remembered all the gigs at all the various venues where we'd seen him playing with NMA across the South over so many years. He told me he had retired from NMA to be able spend more time with his elderly father. I had to give him big respect.

Haven't been on the board for a while so having a look through some of the older threads and thought I would chuck in my tuppence! I stayed at a B&B on the banks of Rutland Water a few years ago which was run by a jolly fly-fishing guide - none other than Rob Waddington who preceded Rob Heaton. He still has a drum kit in his lounge and we had a jam to some old tunes. Top bloke! Bloody tasty home-smoked trout for breakfast too! You can find his guiding website online.
